Product did not quite meet expectations but support exceeded them.
UPDATE #2 - 7/25/2020 - OK. So After the last update I made, rimao cai from NewFantasiaDirect left a comment on my review to apologize and inform me they would send me a new one. I decided to take them up on it because I did get 3 good years out of the first one and it was very good of them to offer a free replacement even though they didn't have to. Many sellers would not go the extra mile like that so I am giving this item more stars for the exceptional support they gave me. And not only that, the shipping of the new cable was very fast. I was told I'd receive it on the 26th and I received it today, the 25th. So they obviously paid for faster shipping than they had to. So they went above and beyond in every way.END UPDATE #2------------UPDATE - OK. So I have taken the Mini-XLR end of this cable apart (since it had a short in it anyway and was of no use. Here is what you get for your money. Underneath the braided sheathing and the thick rubber insulation, the wires inside are actually pretty thin. Doesn't take much to cause a short with wires that thin even if they're relatively well protected.END UPDATEOK. So I have had this cable about 3 years and used it every day on my main headphones that I use almost all the time. (AKG K240).Long story short, I was pleased with it when I first got it and enjoyed the (apparent) security of knowing it was built to last (the braided sheath on the wire was a signal that the wires inside would not eventually break) and the strain relief spring on the 3.5 mm side was also a good sign.Alas, it has no strain relief where the cable goes into the mini-xlr connector and I should have known that would be the death of it. And guess what? It was. Almost 3 years exactly and one side of the headphones started cutting out whenever I moved my head.3 years might seem like a respectable amount of time but I sit in the same spot all the time and hardly ever move or bend my cables so they receive very little abuse. And in fact, I'm pretty sure the crappy cable that came with my headphones lasted longer than this thing did. It is a shame because replacement cables for these headphones are not the easiest thing in the world to come by. You can't just order any old cable like you can with some headphones. It has to have the mini-XLR plug on it. That pretty much assures that you will have to order a replacement when it becomes necessary. And when it becomes necessary, it will be necessary right away and you really don't want to wait a week for shipping when you need your headphones every day.Anyway, I'm not buying this one again.

Better than the stock cable.
This cord is much more secure and durable than the stock cable that came with my AKG K702s. I don’t noticed a change in sound like others have mentioned. The original cable just seemed cheap. This one does not.

Incredible cable for the money. Shorter than original so great at desktop.Clicks in secure. The spring on the end to protect the cable end is a nice touch, as is the braided cover. Good job dudes!

Great value cable - decent lifespan for the price
Originally purchased this to replace the stock cable on my AKG that started going bad after about 3 years, leaving me with one ear intermittently going out. Was initially just supposed to be temporary since I needed it ASAP and this had next day Prime shipping, and planned to only use it for a week or so until I could do some research and find a quality cable. Ended up having no complaints, eventually forgot about replacing it, and here I am 1 year and 9 months later before it started going bad (tinny sound and need to fumble with headphone end to clear it up).Very surprised this inexpensive cable lasted almost 2 years of pretty much daily use, with a lapel mic hanging off it adding a bit more stress to the connector. Decided to get a second one today when I noticed the same behavior happening again - I figure even if it only lasts a year and a half its still better value than spending three times as much as the original which lasted about 3 years (less than twice the lifespan for triple the price? Nah).Unrelated to the cable, I cant recommend AKG headphones enough - these K7xx Anniversary additions are still going strong three cables and 8 years later :).

Better Than I Could've Hoped
I bought a set of AKG K7XX open back headphones a few months ago (via Massdrop). They came with a decent-quality 10ft (!) cord, which I found WAY, WAY too long for regular use. Obviously I'd rather the cord be too long than too short, but still... 10 FEET LONG! It was unwieldy, to put it mildly. After a couple months of stuffing 7 feet of cord in my pocket, I finally decided to look for something more reasonable. That's where this 1.2m (4 foot) cord comes in. I was torn between this one and a similar one that had inline volume/track controls, but I settled on this one for the sake of simplicity... seems like fancy features are always the first thing to fail on such products.I wasn't sure what to make of this cord when I first got it. It's got a fantastic braided sheath, a metal spring for strain relief on the TRS end, and appears to have some excellent quality connectors on both ends. The 1/4" TRS adapter is screw-on, which I appreciate. The 3.5mm end connects solidly into all my devices without being ridiculously tight. And most importantly, the length is perfect. My only concern was the thickness of the cable. It seemed kinda thin compared to the 10 foot cable I was using before, and since I tend to use headphones with my HTC 10 without an external amp, I worried that I might lose some loudness through a thinner wire.Turns out my fears were unfounded. If anything, I seem to get more volume out of my phone now than I used to. I can listen comfortably at less than half volume, which gives me plenty of headroom. For the price, this cord is a downright bargain. If you're in a similar situation as I was and you're hesitating, don't. Just pull the trigger and order this. Mine arrived just in time to listen to the new deluxe re-issue of Faith No More's "We Care A Lot" album, and it's been an amazing listening experience.
