Let’s call it what it is—this wasn’t an upgrade, it was damage control. The original factory module? Total embarrassment. Dropped connection, wouldn’t recognize CarPlay half the time, and made me question whether Ford actually tests their tech before shipping it out. Enter its replacement—Swapped it in, fired it up, and finally got the functionality I was supposed to have from day one. Clean install, factory fit, and CarPlay now connects instantly like it has a clue. Ford should’ve nailed this the first time, but at least this part puts the fire out. If your original hub took a dump like mine did, save the troubleshooting headache and just get this one. It’s not an upgrade. It’s Ford doing a do-over—and this time, it actually works.

Plug and play— popped it in and I have CarPlay again after not having it for a year. I’m so relieved and excited! Works like a charm :)

Original unit gave out, replaced with this one. Fits and works perfectly in my 2019 F150 XLT 2.7 L ecoboost. Took less than 2 minutes to remove and install the new one.

Used this in a Sync 1 to Sync 3 upgrade. Charger lights up and charges my device but does not recognize that my phone is even plugged in. No SYNC app or CarPlay work whatsoever. Update: I just checked and they sent me the wrong one. The item in the box is a different part number. Very annoying Update 2: returned it and only got a half refund. Thanks.

My 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat originally had SYNC 3.0, which I recently updated to SYNC 3.4. I purchased this USB hub to add Apple CarPlay, and it works as intended. To remove the original hub, I used a Titan 11108 Trim Pad Tool with the forked end. I recommend watching a YouTube installation video beforehand. The electrical connectors were somewhat difficult to unplug, but manageable with patience. The only issue is that the new housing is slightly shorter than the factory module, so it does not fit the original opening securely. I had to transfer the new USB internals into the original factory housing for a proper fit. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the hub works, but the required housing swap makes the installation more complicated than it should be.

I bought this USB hub for my Ford F-150 after Apple CarPlay stopped working, and this ended up being the perfect solution. Installation was extremely easy and required no tools at all—just pop the old one out, plug in the two wiring connectors in the back, and snap the new hub in place. The whole install took about 5 minutes. CarPlay immediately started working again with no issues. If you’re having USB or CarPlay problems in your F-150, this is an easy and affordable fix that works exactly as advertised.

Definitely upgraded my system, but it is very sensitive to which cord is used to connect to the phone.

Wifey spilled coffee in the middle console and fried the connector. Ended up having to order part KT1Z-14D202-D along with this unit in order to have carplay again. Bolts really easily. Plug and play. Took all of 10 min.

Absolute garbage for both product and service, one of the ports didn't even charge my phone and the other did charge but no CarPlay. Tried to return the product and the seller hackled and argued with me, wanting me to pay for return shipping.

Depending on what vehicle you’re putting this into, the plastic backing may not cover the factory opening/slot that it installs into. The unit works as it should.

Randomly loses connection with any and all USBs plugged in
