Fortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try out the water/fire-proofing of the unit. It is well-constructed and looks like it'll last many years in typical use. I really like the versatility. The "upper deck" space is especially useful. The lower area accommodates the usual documents and folders nicely. I think you could put a hanging folder frame in there easily.NOTE: This is NOT fireproof or waterproof, nor die it claim to be. It is fire-resistant and water resistant. I would not store valuables in it. Those items belong in a safe deposit box.

I bought it just for important files, certificates, and important things that may be destroyed in a sudden fire. The box is strong for long lasting time， folding to save room space when no use, and tons of space to hold all mine important issues.Showed in the video that I tried many times to test its fireproof characters. The longest testing I did was about 40 seconds continuously fire the box cover with candle flame. The box wall is not ignitable, even no any changes. I don't want to fire it for even longer time because I love it.I am not hesitate to recommend this to you.

Just wanted something for all my important papers and a couple little trinkets that are special to keep safe in case of a fire. This is really spacious and does the job. Seems very sturdy as well. I havent tested it in water or fire but hopefully it wont come to that. But for peace of mind, get it.

Material is fireproof. But box isn't going to withstand a huge fire. Zippers will not make the box sealed. Nice for basic filing and easy carry.
