Chromatic Harmonica Songbook (Songbooks for chromatic harmonica) Paperback – November 5, 2016

After years of playing Bluesharp only, I thought about dusting off my old chromatic harmonica. I bought this collection because it’s reasonably priced and I like a lot of the songs. The harp tablature included makes playing easy, especially when you’re not that good at reading music.After stumbling through some songs I started remembering how to play and things definitely sounded better then. At the moment I’m having lots of fun playing my chromatic once again and I’d definitely recommend this book.There’s even chord symbols and diagrams for guitar players - I don’t need them at the moment, but I think they might be useful when you’re playing with friends.

As others have noted, this songbook contains 70 American folk songs such as Wayfaring Stranger. Songs are presented with music notation, accompanying chords, and guitar tabs for the chords, as well as tabulature for 12 hole chromatic harmonica.I'm satisfied with this songbook, it is a great way to familiarize yourself with the chromatic.Two reservations about this book. First, the music notation is written an octave lower than played. Nowhere is that mentioned, so beginner students should be aware of this. Second, I've noted occasional errors in the harmonica tabulature. Wayfaring Stranger in the 22nd measure specifies an 8 draw for a D in the fifth octave, which is incorrect. There is a similar error in Red River Valley where a flat D is shown as a 5 draw with slide, when it should be a 5 blow with a slide. I imagine there may be other typos. These occasional errors will keep you on your toes. Overall, it's a fine book.

Excellent book for those learning to read on the chromatic. Pleasant, familiar, easy to navigate traditional American songs, arranged in various keys - very important: The C chromatic can play in all keys, and with this book you can learn some important songs in more difficult keys.Printing is clear, notation is mostly very accurate (unlike many songbooks) good table of contents, full lyrics for the songs.This is my favorite book for the chromatic.

As a beginner, I’m using it more for therapy than anything else. I’m very satisfied with its value.

I discovered that it wasn’t exactly compatible with my number and arrows charts and didn’t work with an ordinary harmonica . Every song I ever wanted but I’m stuck in the little kids book until I can transcribe the song I want.

Purchased this for a friend who had paid over $50 for a yard sell harmonica.Surprised him with it on his birthday.He says now there’s no excuse not to learn to play! Very happy with this purchase!

Delivery was good and the product was also good.

Teaching myself to play the harmonica and this book was a great place to start.
