Brother PT-H100

I'll preface this review by letting you all know I know nothing about label makers. I wanted one because my house has like three different switches that control every ceiling light and it is extraordinarily frustrating trying to remember which of the connected switches need to be in the off/on position for all the different lights to work. Imagine trying to get your visiting family to figure it out when I have yet to fully conquer the light switch enigma that my evil electrician set up. The need for a label maker arises! I think this is a great little machine!!! A lot of the reviews for this seem to be by people who have a serious label making hobby (I don't judge); citing different product model numbers and perseverating over different label makers' print quality. Alas, you will find none of that here. Does it do all the things that a label maker simpleton could need? YES Is it easy to use? YES Does it have different fonts, sizes, stamps etc? YES Can it print "KEEP ME ON" for underneath ambiguous light switches? YES GREAT SUCCESS! Bottom line, even if it was capable of printing modern art, I'd still only use it print some labels here and there. It was everything I needed. As for the light switch problem? Label it fixed! Ba dum tss....

Pros: Affordable Somewhat Intuitive for the most part Works as good as the next label maker Cons: Wastes too much paper. If printing 3 inches, you will easily waste about another 3 to 5 inches. Not so good battery life. Having written the cons, I would like to note that this is one of the most inexpensive ones that is still of a good quality. Also, I don't think there is enough demand for these devices for companies to invest on R&D and make it better so it will feel like this device just time traveled from the early 90s. The software for it seems to have been written in that era too. Then again, all the other label makers (at least in this price range) are no different than this. So this device still deserves at least 4 stars and I would recommend buying it because the price is good and it's not that bulky and it gets the job done.

I used an older version of this same label maker at a previous employer for years and loved it. Since I came into the market for one recently, I immediately remembered this model and was happy to see it had been upgraded with many more functions, without the price increase. There are many colored tapes available, some with special purpose like security tape and super adhesive outdoor rough service tape. I prefer the white laminated, I use them outdoors in places like electrical boxes/panels and they last a good year or more even in the sun. The tape takes 5 seconds to replace in the label maker, just flip unit over, remove back, pull old cartridge out and slap in a new/partially used one. Nothing to calibrate or turn or fiddle with. I keep the margins set low to save tape as they come preset at their largest setting. (Conveniently) It uses 6 AAA batteries, I chose to use rechargeable and it works great.

I bought this to help me keep track of how much I spend on products I buy in bulk with coupons. it works great there is a lot of space on either side of the printed area that I think is a little bit waste but I'm sure that's just because of the print and cut. It works perfectly and cuts easily there are a ton of different options and its very easy to navigate through the settings. I didn't have to use them because it was so easy but it does come with instructions with detailed information on how to use it.

The unit works well with the exception of two issues. First of all, the battery life is horrendous. It uses 6 AAA batteries and blows through them like it was nothing (seems to drain when the unit is off faster than you would expect also). To compound this frustrating fact, there is a little plastic circle on the bottom of the unit suggesting that other models using the same case probably have an optional wall adapter. The batteries die without warning, often when you go to print and it stops at the beginning of a label due to increased current draw wasting yet more tape. I wish there was a battery indicator on the screen. My second complaint is the same with all Brother label makers, they waste an unnecessary amount of tape on either side of the text. This is obviously only beneficial to increase the profit of tape sales. These two issues annoy me especially because I think of how many AAA batteries and unneeded tape ends up in a landfill/ocean. I wouldn't mind buying a power adapter separately if they had just provided the port on the bottom for the 80% of the time that I don't need it to be portable. On the plus side, this unit is dirt cheap. Brother TZ tape is extremely tough, and most types are laminated (there is a separate spool of clear tape pressed on top of the print!). I go on EBay and buy bulk generic cartridges for $5 a piece. They are readily available because TZ is by far the most common cartridge type among all of the Brother models.

This handheld label maker is great for marking your items that you don't want to "disappear". We have used it for months in our office and it is still running on the same set of batteries. It comes with one set of labels that print black on the white label. These labels are not adhesive, but you can buy refill rolls of the labels that have an adhesive backing. With this machine, you have the ability to change the size of the lettering, add stars and frames to whatever you are printing to write and even change the font. There isn't much of a learning curve necessary to make great labels for all of your stuff.

Excelenet producto, y mas por el costo. Realmente una excelente inversion. Funcional, economico, de uso cotidiano, de calidad... Muy bien

It is a useful product for office and home. The tapes are expensive, but good quality tapes at reasonable prices are available on Aliexpress.

I was shocked at the price, i check this same model is going for $49 at staples and was on sale for $35 even at $35 its still over twice the price at amazon, i paid 14.99 and you can't beat that price, even with the extra tape i bought it was still almost 10 bucks under staples sale price, not to mention it works great I would strongly recommend it if your in the market for a label maker, very easy to use, took just a few minutes and i was labeling everything in the house lol!

Realmente...., no pense que llegara a ser tan util, los cartuchos van genial y las pilas con quitarlas despues de usarlo o al finalizar el dia, te duran bastante, calidad precio y funcionalidad de las mejores etiquetadoras para trabajos no muy grandes ni precisos, claro esta, los recambios siempre puedes obtar por los genericos funcionan muy bien. Recomendable el vendedor muy rapido en el envio, sin contatiempos.
