Steel Swivel Peeler

This peeler is exactly what I hoped for. It's simple, sharp, and solid. I used it on sweet potatoes and it handled them no problem. The blade rotation is super smooth, and it grabs the skin cleanly on the first pass. I love that you can swipe back and forth for super fast peeling. Build quality is great (no surprise because OXO makes consistently solid stuff), and it feels good in your hand. Super easy to use, and the skins come off fast without clogging or jamming. Rinses clean in seconds too. Just an all-around great peeler that works really well — no fuss, no cheap parts, and totally worth it.

I had another OXO swivel peeler, but the handle was made from plastic and rubber. This meant the peeling blade itself, via axial points, was seated at both ends in plastic, and so with repeated use, the plastic kept weakening/widening, which meant the blade moved farther and farther back making it harder to use and clean. With an all-metal design, save for the rubber girding the sides of the peeler, this model's blade should not shift. What's more, the steel seems to be higher quality, meaning the two blades should keep their edges longer. (I find the most efficient way to peel is a back and forth motion, which has the added benefit of wearing the blades evenly.) What's more, it's just a sexy design! It's satisfying when something works well. It's thrilling when that something is a pleasure to use.

This is a great product. it's got a comfortable handle (those old style, hollow handle peelers are murder on the hands) and it's easy to use without skinning your knuckles.

As a left handed individual, this peeler has been great. It has excellent weight, the handle is shaped nicely, and it works incredibly well for peeling anything and everything. The blade swivels, making it that much easier to use.

I wanted to know which was the better peeler, this or the OXO Pro Swivel peeler, so I bought both. This Steel Swivel peeler is noticeably sharper and better at peeling. I even got my wife to try them back to back and she said this Steel one was definitely better/easier to peel with. The Japanese steel blade on this one does really seem to make a difference. I kept this and returned the Pro model. I would say they're pretty equal in comfort and grip. The biggest downside to this peeler is the eye remover. It works, but it kind of roughly prys pieces of potato out, and it's not sharp. The Pro model definitely has the better eye remover, with its more common scoop style that works a lot better. Another small side note is there isn't as much of a gap between the back of the blade and the piece that holds the blade on this Steel model, so it's tighter to fit in to clean behind the blade than the Pro. It's not a big deal though.

This is one of the best commonly-available brands of peelers that's truly a Pro quality. Real stainless steel that doesn't rust even after many months of use. Had this brand before and the quality is still the same. Sharp Japanese blade. Has a built-in eyer to remove imperfections in a single scoop. Easy to use and comfortable to hold. No negatives. Recommended.

Absolutely high quality. I would purchase this again in a heartbeat but I bet I won't have to.

I recently purchased the Oxo Steel Swivel Peeler and I must say, I’m impressed with its quality. The peeler is very well built and made of stainless steel. Overall, I would highly recommend the Oxo Steel Swivel Peeler to anyone looking for a high-quality peeler that is built to last. It’s a great investment for any home cook or professional chef.

Excellent, comfortable and very sharp

I find the handles of most peelers too small to be comfortable to hold. Often, the blades are neither sharp enough nor optimally positioned. The Oxo peeler is optimal on both counts. Like other Oxo products that I have, it seems well made and likely to last a long time.

I’ve been on the hunt for a good potato peeler. Last one cracked then disappeared. Some I got were useless, uncomfortable to use, took off too much or not enough skin, this one is fabulous. comfortable to hold, takes off a nice amount of peel and it feels strong so I shouldn’t have to replace it for a long time.
