Nice system for herbs.
This item was as described and functions properly. Pretty good value. Nice system. The water that is retained at the bottom gets a bit stinky as the fertilizer seeps into it.

I would give these 10 stars if I could
I can't say enough good things about Earth Boxes and wish I could give this review more stars. I read the hype, wondered if it could be true and after years of trying different methods for veggies, this is the way. In the past I was lucky to get 1 or 2 tomatoes per plant and I am up to about 50 Cherokee purple tomatoes from the 2 plants I have in this box and still have more growing or in the blossom stage. The boxes are pricy but I heard they last forever (All mine are a year or less old and still good as new), they are super easy to assemble and come with excellent instructions on how to set them up. You only need to add soil and the seeds or seedlings you want to grow. I bought several more and have them lined up along my driveway but they would work nicely on a small porch or patio that gets at least 6 hours of Sun as they aren't large. I am also growing several varieties of squash and some peppers and all of them are going great as well, just not ready to harvest yet. If anyone is wondering about the scarring on the tomatoes, that is normal and is due to inconsistent watering. I keep the water well filled all the time but we have had a drought and then several days of heavy rain so the inconsistent watering caused the scars. Its not a big deal, I cut around them and the tomatoes are still amazing tasting. I grew all of these from seeds that I sowed directly into the box. If you are on the fence about buying these boxes, just do it, you won't regret it, just make to keep the water topped off in the well as much as possible and you can't go wrong. PS: I use food grade diatomaceous earth to keep the bugs off and that is working wonders as well as normally in the South, the bugs go crazy on my tomatoes. Not a single bug in sight on these tomatoes

Great way to grow
Only way to grow some things around here. We have eggplants that produce huge numbers of eggplants. They never grew just planted in our soil.

Turn your black thumb green
Have a old one of these from 15+yrs ago. Still working great. Wanted more easy gardening so ordered another. Once set up, just really need to add water 1-2x a week depending on size of plant. They have a great how to on the web. We have had great success with tomatoes and cumbers. They have change the design from the past. I believe a bit better. Has less parts and seems a bit more sturdy. Looked at the others, and for the small saving wasn't worth it. Right its blistering hot where I am. I have tomatoes in a earth box, thriving lots of early tomatoes. also have some tomatoes in a container pot doing kind of ok, no fruit yet. and some in the ground, barley making it.
