Truly Plug and Play
Bought this item when I upgraded to a Mac Mini which has no CD drive. Removed the CD drive from my old PC and bought this enclosure. It is truly plug and play. Snapped the CD drive into this enclosure, plugged it into my Mac and within a few minutes was able to rip my CD into Apple music.

Has the 7 + 6 sata built-in
I dont normally write reviews but since this product doesn't have many and there are no pictures, I decided to upload some for future buyers. I bought the enclosure to convert an old DVD drive from a laptop. As another reviewer mentioned, the tabs are delicate when trying to open. The plastic is pretty soft since the tabs now have dents when using a screwdriver (as suggested) to open it. No need to buy any extra cables like SATA or 7 + 6 cable since it's built into the enclosure. Included is also a USB to connect to a laptop. Works well for me. I have included a picture of the optical drive i had and how it installed.

DYI optical drive.
Usb optical drive with your choice of mechanism. Workin long term. No fails in its function so far. Mechanism slides in to connect to std connector config.

Works but overpriced for what it is.
I didn't mind no faceplate for a slot loading drive but I didn't realize it needs two USB-A ports or a brick for power. I got an enclosure WITH a drive that runs from one USB-A or USB-C port for the same price.

Specifically supports Apple SuperDrive
Product came with cable needed for providing power to the device. The slim profile is perfect for space-saving.

Good enough
Two negatives. The slim drive I put it in enclosure, doesn’t quite fit flush at the front. The bottom of the faceplate makes contact with the edge of the enclosure, and everytime I have to pull the drive open. If you need to swap the drive out (or in my case troubleshoot), the plastic tabs and case are very delicate. I broke the two front tabs first try. It doesn’t ruin the device, but is very fragile.
