I've had this for a year and a half and only used it a handful of times to burn mixed music cds. Half the time when I plug it into my laptop it doesn't even recognize the device. When I can finally get it to show up, when I try to burn a playlist iTunes says "cd player or software not recognized" or something like that even if the cd player shows up in My Computer. Maybe it's an iTunes problem, I don't know (but I think not).When I finally, FINALLY get the playlist to burn, it pops it out halfway through and says it couldn't do it. So I pop it back in to try again, and iTunes tells me that all the songs are on there. Oooook.....so I go test it out in the car which is where I'll actually be using the cd, and it only burned a few songs. When I try to reuse the same cd--even after formatting it or emptying it, whatever--it refuses to burn onto the same cd. I can't do anything with it. I've had to trash two cds this way which is my limit for waste. This is going in the trash.

I've had a new PC desktop build for about 2 months now and ordered this drive so I could use all of my game library that are on DVD's and CD music. Yes the cord is short but if you need extra length order a longer one. It has performed just fine with DRM protected discs and ran almost as good as my old computer's onboard cd/dvd drive. I would recommend it to anyone that needs to move files, games, music or anything else. While pushing the drive door closes just make sure your thumb and index finger is at both "sides" of it while pushing it closed so you don't trigger the drive open button that's installed right in the center of the drive door. Really it's not an inconvience just remember to close it in this fashion. For the money you just can't beat this portable drive. Questions about anything else? It regularly will pop out discs and they have to be reinserted. After burning about 25 DVD's, it produces an error message instead. Even after cleaning the laser head, which helped for a little while, I can no longer use it to burn dvd's.Eventually it would turn off automatically to the point where it became unresponsive and won't even work anymore. Complete waste of money! Lasted only 1.5 years.

This product did not work that I returned it within receiving it. My computer would not recognize the dvd player and I tried it on 3 different laptops!

Lost a star for the price, but the thing works. I use it for my PlayStation 4, have for over a year and it’s still kicking.

Fantastic item easy to use plug and play great for watching dvd's or downloading my personal music on cd's to iTunes.

I bought this because the CD drive on my laptop was not working very well. It works perfect. You cannot or don't need better.

Truly a plug and play item. Plug it in to any USB port and you're ready to go. YUP! that easy.
