Sena Impulse Modular Motorcycle Smart Helmet (Gloss White, Large)

I wanted to get a helmet that had a built in system. I just happen to come across a YouTube video that feature 2024 top 5 best smart motorcycle helmets. Now I watch not just one but 3 different videos on this subject. And all videos they feature ”Sena impulse” and a couple of other ones. But this one is the smallest shell size . That won’t look like a mushroom or bobble head. I saw a video on RevZilla where I got a good ideal how it will look on me. So with that out of the way let talk about fitment, I wear a medium and got a medium and it fits perfectly. It was a little snug but still feels really comfortable. It doesn’t feel like my face in a vice like some other brands I have tried. It’s also nice that it comes with a pin lock, so no need to purchase one. The vents work perfectly especially if sitting in traffic. I really like the drop down sun shade inside the helmet. Now as far as the sound… it’s is top notch, the music is amazing and come in clean and crisp. Phone calls are excellent as well . With the easy to use buttons on the side of the helmets , it make it perfect to operate while riding . Now there are a couple of cons, or gripes that I have . The first one is there’s no d ring , so I can’t use my handlebars helmet lock that uses the d ring to lock it to. Second they only make a black tint face shield no other colors. Thats it ….and they are definitely not no deal breakers. In all I am very happy with the helmet , for the price it met my expectations. Especially when the whole system is included plus fitment and the sound quality is amazing .

After using the Sena Impulse on my usual routes, here are my honest impressions: Audio & Microphone: The Harman Kardon speaker quality is crystal clear in the city and at moderate expressway speeds. However, at high speeds, the clarity drops off a bit. The microphone is the standout feature; the noise cancellation is so effective that people I talk to don't even realize I’m riding. Comfort & Aerodynamics: This is a very cool helmet, perfect for hot climates, and the weight is well-balanced—it never caused any neck strain on long rides. A surprising plus: the visor stayed completely clear of bugs, even though my bike's windshield and headlights were covered in them. Battery Life: I got 6 hours of continuous use with music playing and the rear LED light on. I received a low-battery warning at the 4-hour mark, but it lasted another 2 hours without issue. Cons: The few bugs that did hit the helmet shell were difficult to clean off. Also, the initial setup is tricky; I haven't been able to get the voice commands or the firmware update to work yet.

I purchased this helmet in an XS, and the fit was perfect right away. It felt secure, comfortable, and very plush. I had no sizing issues at all. The app was easy to use and very user-friendly. The sound quality was excellent, and the Mesh communication worked great while talking with other riders. Unfortunately, the weight was the dealbreaker for me. I’m a female rider, and after about two hours of wearing it, my neck was extremely sore. It was simply too heavy for me, so I ended up returning it. Other than the weight, I thought it was a great helmet with excellent features, comfort, and sound quality. If weight isn’t an issue for you, I would definitely recommend it.

So initially I really liked this helmet, the audio is pretty good and you can control it with your phone. But there is a ton of wind noise, especially on the left side. That could be because I have a big head, largest size they offer is XL and I think I'm just a bit more than that. I've also had issues with the helmet just like freezing up? When it happens the reset button on the back usually works, it's small though so you need something like a paper clip to press it which I don't usually have on my bike. A few times that didn't work though and I had to wait for it to die. It only has four buttons so it's easy to memorize, it comes with anti fog inserts but I keep forgetting I have them so I can't tell you if they're good. Bluetooth was easy enough to figure out but the app is a little slow. It does seem to update often and does so over Bluetooth when charging. I think it's uncomfortable, but again I might need a slightly larger size. Oh the mic is awful, presses right against the mouth, can barely adjust it. I have a lot of facial hair which makes it even worse. It's expensive for all the issues it has.

Great quality and super helmet but was to small.

Only problem is the charger is not USB c. If I had known,I would have skipped this one. Sena helmet sizes are seemingly based on pelican skulls. Order 2 sizes up from a bell or shoei or whatever...... Speaker performance is decent. The app is trash. My helmet did not come with the needed wifi cable for firmware updates..... Idk if it would make any difference though. If it fit like all the other CL helmets I have had, I would have gave 4 stars for the speaker quality.

Helmet was a little over priced when I made the purchase, but can’t go wrong for the price it’s at now. Low air noise. High quality overall. Blue tooth connection can be a little tricky. Follow the instructions and you shouldn’t have any trouble. Carry the cheat sheet instructions until you know how everything works. i’ve been able to figure everything out on my own with contacting customer service. Great fit and very comfortable. Best helmet for the money.

Was on the fence about spending this kind of money, but I did it and I am not disappointed at all. This helmet is amazing. The quality of the helmet and the Bluetooth which is integrated into the helmet is crystal clear and works so great. The helmet does have the slide down tinted shield inside, but I purchased a tinted shield for those extra long days of riding. This helmet is 100%quality.I will be purchasing another one for a family member. Take not though that this does run small.so if you normally take say a large, you will need to order the next size up.and remember you have to break a helmet in.so if it’s “just pretty snug” it will break in and you do not want a helmet that is too big or loose.this only comes in black and white at the time I am writing this review, hopefully they’ll come out with more coo later.
