Yes, this is what I was missing!
Bought this to replace my wired headset of the same manufacturer, the Recon 200. I loved the audio clarity of the Recon and, honestly, thought I had found the best deal out there for headsets.Upon getting my new one set up, I was immediately impressed by the mic monitoring feature which allows you to hear yourself in your own ears. It's actually really nice to know how loud you sound to others, but certainly not *necessary* for most people. Then I got into gameplay with others on a PS party chat. THAT'S where I noticed the biggest difference. I am now able to individually control the chat volume from the game sounds (COD: MW). Took me a minute to get the levels dialed in perfectly, but once I did, my ears were much happier! With the old headset, I found that I was often wishing the game were louder, or the chat, and then the game again, then chat again... It was a never ending circle of wishing one were louder than the other. Now that isn't an issue at all!As for the audio quality and clarity, at first I didn't like the sound. The EQ seemed low-end-heavy, without much sharpness to the highs. I missed how clear my old Recon 200 was- I could hear details and tiny pebbles falling from the wrecked buildings around me. However, as I played more, I began to notice that what I was hearing *more* of was the important stuff: you know, footsteps on the ground OUTISDE the building I was in, and other stuff like that. As I played even more, I began to notice those more subtle (but unimportant) details, like the aforementioned pebbles falling, but could also now hear the direction and distance of footsteps. The "virtual surround sound" on these is amazing! I no longer just heard footsteps to my left- I could now pinpoint whether they were near or far, and could actually hear them change from in front of me to behind! I'm super impressed with this feature! The only real negative thing I can say about these is the comfort of the headband. On my Recon the padded headband was super comfy and I didn't even notice it was there, even during longer gaming sessions. The padding on the Stealth headband isn't as soft/forgiving, and I found myself adjusting it to a few different positions over the course of a couple hours. Not a deal breaker by any means, as I think the superb audio quality and the ability to individually adjust chat/game volume are of much greater benefit.Overall highly recommended! I only wish I wouldn't have tried to go the cheap route when I first got a headset!

Surprised by sound quality
Initial impression, design has a smooth contour. They are very light weight and comfortable. Setup is extremely easy. I have the original ps4 model so all i did to sync with my ps4 was plug in the usb transmitter and turn on the headset. That was it and they were paired. The sound quality is hands down the best sound quality I have heard on a gaming headset. I have owned other high end brand headsets for ps3 & pc and this is far superior sound quality. (1 year update below)The features on the stealth 700 are- Super human hearing [on/off]Really enhances the ambient sounds such as vehicles, foot steps & distant shots you would normally have to listen closely to hear.- Noise cancellation [on/off]Helps immerse your gaming experience. Especially if you have noise around you while gaming.- Blue tooth [connect to your phone, listen to music while gaming, answer calls]- Separate volume controls for game & chat- Charges with the same cable as your ps4 controller [can use them while charging]- upon purchase UPDATE software & tune your sound settings via pc or the app.- works on ps3- optical cable along with usb helps sound quality.Cons- limited range between headphones and transmitter. Once you leave the room with the headphones and they lose line of sight with transmitter signal is lost.- (initial thoughts) At the moment the only thing that might be an issue in the future is the durability of the headset itself. They are so light weight that I suspect they will not have the longevity of other models but time will tell how that goes.( updated 12/6/19, 1 yr later and I haven’t had any issues with the build quality. They have held up very well and I use them regularly. I was initially worried about their longevity but that is no longer a worry. The sound quality has held up and the headset received multiple updates. I have owned these since day 1.)Glad I picked these up, will update if anything changes. Thanks for reading.
