Like Grim Death: Part One (Unsainted)

The best KV Rose has written yet!
I’ve never highlighted so many passages in a book before. This book is intense. You’ll be going through a lot of emotions with many characters and it’s ALOT of internal dialogue.A lot.A lot.The struggles, secrets, and lies that every single Unsaint member is carrying is… heavy.Lucifer is carrying the world on his shoulders. He’s up and down on his feeling against the Unsaints and that part of his world. He wants to just be a father and husband but he’s born and bred to lead this life that gets bigger and bigger in each book.Sid. Lilith.Such an interesting character because I really lost a lot of love and respect for her in this book which shocked myself. On the other hand. I could so sympathize with her overwhelming feelings on becoming a mother. I am on my fourth child, (Who was born three days before Rain) and her anxiety on making sure that he’s breathing and comfortable affects me with every child I have. And I can relate to her on the deepest level of motherhood. But she became a brat and an instigator on many occasions when it came between Ella and Mavy. I wanted to throw my heaviest boot at Sid’s face sometimes. My favorite character which for some reason has so many haters is Ella. I think her and I have a similar personality in the sense that we desperately want to belong but can’t quite figure out how.And it makes her extremely insecure.Maverick does not help that insecurity at all.He plays with her and strings her along like a little toy and as much as I love Maverick, they both are so toxic that I felt like I needed a cigarette after reading this book and I don’t even smoke. As dark as this book gets. There is romance. I don’t know if I would categorize these books as romance but it’s there. It’s just dark and toxic.Maverick loves Ella and his own corrupted way. Lucifer and Lilith are it for each other. And then we have other characters like Atlas and I simply don’t know what he’s doing. There’s just so many secrets and things that are going on the background that we the readers don’t know yet.Sevryn. A character I saw coming on my all the way. He did not fool me.This book was like around 800 pages on my Kindle. It took me a few days to read it. It’s a book you have to read slow because you gotta know what’s going on. It is not a standalone. There are very dark dark elements to this book. Some I had to be like… did the author really have to go there?? She did. She went there. It leaves off on a cliffhanger. One that I am still holding my breath on.This book was probably my favorite book of the entire series. We can a lot of different point of view. And things are going down… dark and deep. Whew!

All hail the queen of dark romance!
Can I give a book a million stars? Because 5 would never be enough. Every single time I read a KV book I’m blown away. Her writing is incredible, sucking you into the worlds she builds and making is so you're fully invested in her characters. Her books just hit different and I’ve yet to find dark romance books that live up to hers. I say it every. single. time.... but KV IS THE QUEEN OF DARK ROMANCE.Like Grim Death is the 5th book in the Unsainted series and is told from multiple POVs. These characters have already been through so GD much at this point and some of them have really grown in ways. We see that in some ways they may even regress. We’re introduce to new players in the story as well. But true to the Unsaints world, the secrets, deceit and chaos remains constant. This book will have you in suspense, questioning everything and dying to know what’s going to happen.I like to keep things vague with KVs book reviews, as they’re best to just be experienced. But I will say that I loved each of these characters even more after this book, which seemed impossible. How could I possibly love them more? How could I love them even when things get so very dark? But, alas, I do love them. So, so much!Reading about Sid as a mom was so incredibly relatable. There’s a rawness to KV's writing that even through secret societies and rituals and all these wild aspects, there’s a realness. An emotion that hits you hard and captivates the readers into loving characters who are morally grey at best. You will feel for these characters, loathe them at times, want to scream and shout and shake them. But also wish you could just hold them tight.I could talk about this book forever... but in short, I’m obsessed and if you love dark romance with secret societies that brings the heat then you will love this one too. 🖤

Best of the series omgggggg
I can't begin to talk about how this book rocked my world!!!! But I'll try... It's a blazing hot edition of the Unsainted escapades. It's like none of the other editions. This dives deep into the group and exposes so much more about the others. Atlas. He's so I more than I thought. Him and Ella are keeping secrets. It's amazing to see Ella become a stronger person among the group. Sid will never accept her. She has Maverick wrapped around her but he's consumed with controlling her. She gives him everything. Anything. But she's also doing alot in the background which is so surprising. Thinking such a meak girl that is the character we've known, she exposes so much more.Brooklin is back but who knows what she's doing. Away from Jeremiah she's lost. Hates her brother Maverick. But the why is answered.Lucifer Malikov is the same evil mofo that we're all obsessed with. He's doing the best someone like him can as a father. Sid has settled into motherhood but still has the edginess of the woman who met her Lucifer and matched the crazy with him.Cain has always been a mystery but he's giving more clues about how he's going through the pressure under the 6.Ezra is the loopy drunk but always there. Always a figure with his brothers.I've been amazed by the depth of each character in this longer story. It is a longer read but I was breathing and eating this whole book. It's just so good!!! It's a DON'T YOU DARE miss it if you're an Unsainted fan. You can't get enough of them.Oh yes....meet Sevryn

Heartbreaking but incredible
I haven’t reviewed any singular book of the Unsainted series. I was going to wait and review the series as a whole because 4 of the books were already out when I discovered the series. But LGD was just so soul destroying I had to write something.Maverick and Ella have been my absolute favourites from the get go. I knew from TMT that Mavy was going to be the man for me. In LGD we see them be pushed to their absolute limits with secrets and lies. They’re trying to protect each other but it’s fuelling paranoia and toxic behaviours. My heart breaks for Ella in this book, I absolutely adore everything about her and relate to so much with her personality, I feel she’d be my twin flame. The ending absolutely destroyed me. LGD can’t come quick enough.I feel we saw a real development in Sid and Lucifers relationship, it’s the first book we’ve seen them not to try to kill each other, Rain was definitely good for them. I did not like Sid in this book at all, I was never her biggest fan but she pushed it for me in this. I did adore her protective instincts as a mother though.Atlas!? Hello. What the HELL. My mind was gone. I need answers, so many answers. If you haven’t read anything by KV yet please do. She writes stories that reach their hands down my throat and grab my heart, pulling all the strings. That make me feel every emotion under the sun, make me feel heard and listened to and let me know that I’m not crazy. Books that are a comfort in the darkest way, that are a hug but also a slap in the face. I just love her writing. In all it’s darkest forms

Twisted Love
ℭ𝔞𝔳𝔢 𝔞𝔡𝔰𝔲𝔪. 𝔅𝔢𝔴𝔞𝔯𝔢, ℑ 𝔞𝔪 𝔥𝔢𝔯𝔢.I can’t breathe.Firstly, I’m not going to go into a summary of what this book is about because it’s the fifth book in the unsainted series & if you haven’t read this series and don’t know the story then stop reading the review & go do that first.𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔯 𝔦𝔰 𝔞𝔩𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔡𝔶 𝔥𝔢𝔯𝔢.My head is all over the place. This story, this world is mind blowing perfection full of distrust, betrayal, pain, trauma, toxicity and twisted love.I will never be able to put into words the talent of KV. It’s no secret I’m obsessed with her and her work. She truly outdoes herself EVERY SINGLE TIME.The fifth book consists of multi POVs & she does this phenomenally. She unravels the story in a way I’m addicted too. Gives so much and so little at the same time. I hang on her every word.ℌ𝔞𝔭𝔭𝔶 𝔢𝔫𝔡𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔰 𝔡𝔬𝔫’𝔱 𝔢𝔵𝔦𝔰𝔱 𝔥𝔢𝔯𝔢.There’s so much I want to say yet I’m stuck. I feel like to get the true experience of what I can’t seem to say you need to immerse in this world and story for yourself. So all I can say is read it!Character thoughts and updates from me:- Luce and Sid’s development and growth as parents in this made my heart pulse. It was so good.- The breadcrumbs we have got of Cain and Ezra is everything. I need more of them. Please let us in their heads KV. 🙏🏼- Ella has my heart! This whole book & her.. I’m broken.- Mavy 😭 I can’t help but love him. & it’s not just him but everyone in this whole frigging book is untrustworthy. They all need to step up and live in the bond they’ve built since birth.- Atlas, I know when I’m in your head more.. I will attached myself to you like the others. But right now.. 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔, 𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚?- I’m not even going to comment on our newcomer Sev, you got to make your own opinions.. 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉*𝒕𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘

Another masterpiece from this author
Honestly, KV Rose is the queen of dark stories with an incredible about of well written introspection, alongside a great plot and so many mind blowing moments. I had really high expectations and they’ve been absolutely exceeded, I wasn’t even sure it would be possible but as always this woman amazes me. Luce and Sid really surprised me, their relationship in light of being parents changed so much and I loved how she really highlighted the struggles of a parent. Mav and Ella haven’t finished their trials, they still need to fight for a change of HEA. I am so excited for book 6!

Oh Lordy lord!
This series is my favourite of all the dark romance I’ve read, and I’ve read a lot!The characters are brilliant, the growth they show - Sid&Luce especially - KV Rose does a brilliant job at this, you’re not left feeling like the characters are not acting like themselves but you can actually feel them grow and change. In the previous books, I’m gonna be honest, Ella wasn’t someone I liked. She was whiny, needy, immature etc, and whilst she was still them things, especially at the start of this book, I grew to love Ella like I do Sid. And that’s all down to KV Roses writing! I felt like I really got to know Ella in this book. I cheered for Ella when she (finally!) stood up for herself towards the end 👏🏻👏🏻Saying that I do hope that the girls can become friends, I feel like both Ella & Sid need a good girlfriend they can rely on.This book has it all - twists & turns, betrayal, family, love and the all important smut 🔥The only thing I wish is that I never started this series until it was finished as it absolutely kills me waiting for the next book 😭⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You get dragged in and can’t stop reading. Read in order as it’s a little complicated but worth it. Dark as dark is
