Nintendo Amiibo: Splatoon - Inkling Squid (Multi), Marvel

I purchased the Inkling Squid amiibo and it's probably my favourite of my (admittedly small) amiibo collection. As usual with amiibo it's reasonably solid and well painted. In particular I really like the way the ink's glossy finish is in contrast with the matte finish on the squid itself: it gives it a convincing fluid look when sat on a shelf, especially when the light sheens from what would be that rising ink, it looks very much in motion. It's been well designed and sculpted, with the usual attention to detail Nintendo afford their amiibo. It's even nice to handle with the different textures of the squid and the ink's finishes in addition to their smooth contours. Only been used with Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe so far but has worked without issue. It's main in-game functionality on Switch is with Splatoon 2, where once scanned (which it'll only let you do once you register both an owner & nickname) you can store your Inkling's current loadout (after you agree to be it's friend) to be recalled at a later time if you're particularly fond of a certain weapon and clothing combination. It also unlocks the ability to get a unique outfit, in this instance some pretty sweet power armour, that you work towards receiving (though it gives you the helmet right off the bat). When you inevitably accept friendship with your amiibo it'll ask if you want to visit some of the game's stages and take some... selfies. I'll be honest, I did question how I got to this point in my life after accepting the offer, but I soon found I was in my favourite battleground, chilling with my amiibo and applying the finest filters to our selfies. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe you can unlock a Splatoon themed racing suit for you Mii character (reminiscent of a motocross outfit) which is nice, though I'll stress this was in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch as I found it was unsupported in my copy of Mario Kart 8 for Wii U (so do your research if you'd be intending to use it with that title). All together a well made and aesthetically pleasing figurine that has some interesting in-game functionality, which for me makes it (as with some other amiibo) a better proposition than most other purely decorative figurines out there without sacrificing that decorative value.

C'è chi ritiene che gli Amiibo siano inutili, chi li colleziona e chi invece li utilizza in gioco, io sono uno di questi ultimi. Se avete acquistato Splatoon 2, non potete lasciarvi sfuggire i nuovi Amiibo, i quali permettono di ottenere in gioco ricompense extra, come accadeva in Splatoon 1 con i vecchi Amiibo (utilizzabili anche nel sequel). Dalla piazza centrale, recatevi presso la confezione Amiibo e premete A, dopo di che posizionate l'Amiibo di Splatoon o Splatoon 2 sullo stick destro del JoyCon ed attendete che venga rilevato, a questo punto registratelo con un nome ed associatelo al vostro Mii, potete richiamarlo in qualsiasi momento nello stesso modo, con la differenza che la registrazione è richiesta solo per il primo utilizzo.

I've collected nearly every Splatoon amiibo, and this was a fine addition to my collection! I had a little bit of shopper's anxiety and was worried about getting sent a bootleg or nothing at all, but I'm glad I was wrong! Official amiibo with original, pristine packaging. Love it! 💜
