DANTE

I'm reading the Divine Comedy and wanted some background about Dante. This is easy to read and I'm finding it interesting and enjoyable. I'm at a loss to know what the other reviewer meant by "notes were distracting", etc. I'm sure when I've finished I'll know a lot more than I did about Dante, which was nothing at all before I started. Perhaps the other reviewer was hoping for something dense and scholarly. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I love the "Divine Comedy" and this should have filled me in about the life of this poet. The way all the notes are in the narrative is totally distracting, they should have been in the back of the book. It could have been written by a student.
