Amazing Amazon Kindle Kids
We purchased this product as a first tablet for our 3 year daughter, who is starting to become more and more interested in our iPad, but, of course, justifying several hundred pounds on a tablet for a clumsy three year old was never going to fly. Step in Amazon’s Kindle Kids tablet - a fraction of the price, but no loss in quality. It comes with a really vibrantly-coloured, yet durable built-in safety case for the clumsy kids, which most, I suspect (we plumped for pink, but they have a pretty good choice of colours). The screen itself is pretty responsive for an item on the budget-end of the tablet scale, it certainly performed much better than I thought it would, with, I would say, a reasonable, above-average performance. It became markedly slower when Rosie had several apps of tabs open at once, but this is to be expected, and returned to full speed once the excess were shut down.In terms of the safety, there is no access to things that kids shouldn’t have access to, and they cannot buy or order things without your approval. Speaking of which, there are so many games, educational as well as fun, and a whole plethora of age-appropriate streaming apps for them to watch and choose content from. A really well thought-out and executed selection from Amazon. Bravo. The only two things I would say on the negative side (and one of these is an extreme nitpick just to at least try to offer some constructive criticism) is that the battery life isn’t brilliant, though in a budget-device i wouldn’t be expecting a top-end battery, it still feels like perhaps they could have provided an extra couple of hours. My other criticism, and this, as aforementioned, is nitpicking 2.0, is that the camera quality doesn’t seem all that good. Again, with a better camera would incur an increase in cost, I imagine, and of course, they’re children, not professional photographers. All in all, would those two criticisms put me off buying one again in the future? Absolutely not. Should this put you off buying one? Absolutely not. Would I recommend this product to others? In a heartbeat.

Worth it!
Amazing battery life, sound quality is low but with headphones works fine. The screen is a good size for a young child, and it is bright. I love the fact that I can set up parental controls so I have a timer on which will switch the tablet off so they can’t use it beyond a certain time. Loads of apps and it is so sturdy! I’m so happy with it and so is my child. BUT you need to buy a separate memory card for this tablet because there is so much to offer it gets full so quickly and then they can’t play much games… but I bought a memory card off Amazon and since then it’s been nothing but an asset.

A Rainbow of Fun (With a Few Clouds) 🌈
This Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Pro is definitely designed with kids in mind. The rainbow universe case is bright, cheerful, and surprisingly tough. My little girl loved the handle and stand, and it's survived more than a few drops without a scratch. The 8-inch screen is a good size for small hands, and the content is clear enough to keep them entertained. While it's not the sharpest display out there, it's perfectly adequate for kids' games and videos.Setting up parental controls was a breeze, and the kid-friendly interface is simple and intuitive. My child picked it up in no time. The selection of apps and games is decent, but it's heavily tilted towards Amazon's ecosystem. Now, the not-so-great news. While the tablet is snappy enough for most kids' needs, it can struggle with more demanding apps. And let's talk about the sound. It's okay, but don't expect to be blown away.Overall, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Pro is a solid choice for parents looking for a durable and affordable tablet for their kids. It's not perfect, but it does the job.
