The actual quality is hard to tell because it is SO hard to open any of the tools! It’s a heavy piece that came wrapped in plastic case. Immediately taking it out it stinks and has black gunk in crevasses. I spent an hour cleaning it when I got it and it’s a little better. No indent to open the knife is ridiculous. Since it’s past return time, I did get some mineral oil to try and make it easier to open.

Hoof pick knife probe basically everything but the comb works well. The comb is crap the teeth on the comb are to close for the horse hair to pass through. So it is worthless for that reason.

Such a handy tool of high quality. I only wish I had purchased many more. Gave them away as gifts to horse people I am friends with.. Everyone loved the great tool....

This tool looks used when I opened the box. the brass is tarnished the parts are almost seized I sprayed and worked the tool for half a day so I could open almost all the tools I was going to wax the wood handle but it's really not worth the wax.

VERY stiff to open, I've had it about a month now and it's still difficult to open. But that is my only complaint with this, it arrived within a week of my ordering it, the craftsmanship is superb, true to color and type, and very sturdy. It is also quite thick, which can make it a bit cumbersome and hard to fit in pockets, but with the number of tools on it that is to be expected.

Bought as a gift for a farrier. They love it.
