eufy SecurityeufyCam S330 (eufyCam 3) Add-on Camera, Security Camera Outdoor Wireless, 4K with Integrated Solar Panel, Face Recognition AI, Expandable Local Storage, Spotlight, No Monthly Fee

I have been using this for a month now. After researching every brand of security camera, I intentionally bought this 4K camera (along with a Homebase 380) because of the built in solar cell, and no monthly fee. I am using this as a driveway cam. Because of the design of my roof, there was no easy way to mount a separate solar cell, and I did not want to neatly run wire for a wired camera. The camera is mounted on the south side of the house, and is in continuous sunshine. (I live in the S.E. valley of Phoenix, AZ, so cloudy days aren't an issue.) The camera performs flawlessly. The battery never goes below 95%. The daytime and night time picture quality is excellent. My only criticism is that there seems to be about a 2 second delay from time of detection until time of recording. My sons' tells me that the delay and picture quality is much worse with their Ring cameras. I will be adding a Eufy dual wireless doorbell camera, and a 2C Pro camera to monitor my rear patio sliding glass door.

Have 4 of these mounted at each corner of my house. Video quality is fantastic, however, there is a delay in the sensors that are triggered from movement and often you only catch the end of someone or something in the video making some captures useless. Also, and this might be a setting I haven’t been able to find and adjust yet, it can be over sensitive, picking up slight movement of plants in the capture area when the wind blows or a spider walks across the lens. You can adjust the capture area but I found it can be hit or miss as to whether or not the video movement trigger stays within the area you set. For the most part it works pretty good. The advertised charging time to keep everything running is pretty spot on if you keep the solar panels in good sunlight. I’ve had these about 6+ months and they are staying charged. Only had one lose a charge for a while but once there was enough sunlight it came back online automatically. Cannot use WiFi 5, 6 or 7, you have to connect everything to a 2.4ghz band. But, with that said, 2.4 is plenty for these cameras and system. If WiFi goes out, so do your cameras. Overall, very satisfied with this system. Works great.

Update: Sept 20, 2025. I have had nothing but trouble with this camera. I’m not sure if this camera was a recalled refurbished camera that I purchased or if it needs to be recalled. But this camera will connect and then just disappear. Nowhere to be found on the app. I have 27 different types of Eufy cameras, and I’ve never had a problem until now. Going to try to contact the seller and then Eufy otherwise don’t waste your money on this oneI absolutely love this company and their products. This camera is decent. I can’t give it 100% though. I love the fact that I can put it up and never have to charge it which is awesome, but fall short on the zoom clarity. The night vision is excellent but again fall short like most cameras when you need that little bit extra for clarity. Like most Eufy products it is super easy to set up. As far as the seller it shipped fast and it arrived two thumbs up from the seller.

The battery one of my cameras is down to 25% after about 2 months. But then again, the area where it is pointed at has a high traffic.>I setup the cameras so that at nighttime the camera lights would turn on for motion detection or when live streaming. I have noticed a few times when it would turn on unprompted and no recording was saved. There were some hiccups, but overall it was pretty easy to install and not much wiring/networking experience needed. So far so good; I will update with any major changesPros:>Daytime capture is unexpectedly nice!>Detection of humans/pets/cars is surprisingly good. The AI recognition of faces is also terrifyingly accurate for the most part>Accessing the live feeds through the eufySecurity app is pretty good and simple to navigate. Saving videos and screenshots were easy to do as well>The solar panels on the S330 charges pretty well. I saw one of them dip below 95% before during a cloudy day, but the next day, it was back up to 100% after being under the sun>The best part is how smooth the all the cameras reconnect to the HomeBase after a power loss. After a blackout, I did not have to do anything! Imagine having to go get a ladder, adjusting it so it is stable, unscrewing the cams all down, reconnecting them one-by-one to the HomeBase, and then putting them back up again while adjusting them to a good vantage point! Thankfully, I did not have to do all of that!Cons:>Unlike the included two S330s with the S380 kit, these stand-alone kit of two S330s connected to the HomeBase seamlessly. So your YMMV>When capturing a clip, it takes the cams like 3-5 seconds before capturing a video>Ghosting happens if there is not enough light source during nighttime. See the included video (I recommend setting up the camera with the "spotlights turned on" or adding "more lighting" to prevent this)>Talking through the cameras automatically triggers the anti-theft alarmOther notes:>Although I praised the camera's detection ability, it took about 2 weeks or so of tweaking and whatnot before I finally got my desired settings. For instance, I got a cam in front of the garage. In the 1st week or so, for some reason, it was not detecting anything beyond 15 feet event though I maxed out the sensitivity settings and detection areas. But by the 2nd week, it started to detect people from the sidewalk and cars passing through the street so much that I had to tone down the settings. IDK, maybe the software in these needed some time to adjust or something>The cams be very sensitive to NON-human/pet/car motion (thankfully, this can be disabled)>Camera switches from automatic to manual recording when looking at the camera's live feed. It goes back to automatic recording again when you stop viewing the live feed

The reason why this didn’t get 5 stars is due to 2 reasons: 1) there are intermittent issues with the home base unit, meaning often I can’t get the video feed from the camera; and 2) its alarm goes off even tho I’ve turned it off—meaning I get a screeching alarm every so often when I pull up in my car. :/Update: a firmware update seems to have fixed the random alarm issue and homebase seems to connect regularly without issue now. The solar panel works great—even in a semi-shaded area it keeps the camera fully powered. Because of these improvements, I’m updating the score to 5 stars—I’d have zero issues buying more of these cameras (and plan to).
