Wow - Feels Like a Hammock!
I tried a lot of these fold up and carry chairs. And, I sure wish I could get one that I loved that weighed less than 10lbs. But, here I am loving this chair and I'm just going to have deal with the weight. The only other contenders were 7lbs so it's really only 3lbs extra. I thought about it and for me it's worth it.This chair gives me head and neck support and honestly with the footrest it feels like a hammock. It's amazingly comfortable. And, the foot rest is easy to adjust - even the arms are adjustable in a clever and solid way. I can put weight on them to get up - not usually the case with chairs of this style - actually I think this was the only one where I could put my full weight on the arms to get up.But, on to the materials and build... OK, I just got this so who knows how long it will last. I saw the other reviews so I have to wonder. But, this chair feels extremely solid and well built. The material - cordura nylon or whatever it is - is by far the thickest and most durable of any chair I tested under $40. i would say easily twice as thick.I was planning on removing the footrest immediately - seemed gimmicky to me and I wanted to cut down on the weight. I confirmed ahead of time with ALPS customer service through email that the footrest is indeed easily removed. But, then I got the chair and sat in it - just like a hammock. And, the foot rest feels very solid. So it's staying on for sure. I mean 'wow' this is comfortable. My wife agreed on the hammock-like feel and she was shocked too at how comfortable this chair is. She's now wondering if she could use it in her office - she's going to do an experiment later and use it for an entire day.In terms of carrying it - I'll put up with the 10lbs because it's that comfortable and worth the sacrifice (I'm 5'10" and 175lbs). She would not be willing to do that - she says it's way too heavy. The carry bag is about as cheap as all the other carry bags you get with portable chairs like this - the carry bags are clearly an afterthought and very basic. I'm going to look for a better alternative or at least a padded piece for the shoulder strap so it doesn't dig into my shoulder. So the bag is as good as any of the others out there - except the Kelty - Kelty includes a really nice carry bag with padded should straps. This is a keeper - quality product for my money. I would buy another ALPS product for sure. This one and the Kelty chairs were both very impressive - this is the one I'll be using this summer though. If it fails - and I don't see it happening, but you never know - I'll be ordering the Kelty LowDown chair that same day - it was super nice also but just didn't have the neck/head support.Update: I've had this for over a year now and it's still my absolute favorite chair - I mean crazy comfortable. I keep it in the car all the time just in case.

Awesome Chair, Better than I Expected!
I don't normally write reviews but I know I am reluctant to believe other reviews because hey, they could be real or they could be paid. I was definitely not paid and I can say this chair is so much nicer than I expected. I had a chair similar to this that eventually broke due to a bunch of rowdy teenage boys and wanted to find something similar. It got here a day earlier than it was supposed to which was awesome. I sat it in to test it out and it was so comfortable. The bag for it is strong and the chair itself is really sturdy. The angle of the back is perfect and I know I can fall asleep in it if I want. The only downside is that the foot rest is far enough out when it's level that my feet almost don't make it, but that's not the chairs fault, I'm just short (5' 3"). My feet still make it so I'm content. Just something to keep in mind if you're short too. Footrest is easy to adjust and not difficult to detach at all. Definitely worth the money :)

Sturdy Comfort
Haven't had it for long but seems like really great quality. Actually got it to lounge along hosptial bed with family - comfortable for long periods of time and easy to tuck away.

Comfy but heavy
I had another similar chair with leg rest that I loved but after many years of use, it broke. This chair is comfortable and collapsible but heavy to carry. I still use but miss my previous lightweight version.

Seems to be real good!
I sit in my chair every day when I have a cigar I like the chair and seems to be very durable. It's the first day that I have the chair and I'm sitting in it right now. Over the years I've had many of these type chairs and this canvas seems to be a little bit thicker so it's probably more durable than others I've had in the past. One thing that I think is worth mentioning is that many chairs that I've had like this the back of the armrest would slide down and I would have to constantly be sliding it back up. This chair however has a small just a bowl adjustable strap that holds the armrest in position Which is located in the back of the chair and holes the back of the armrest in the position that you want. This is something that I've never seen before and I like. I hadn't seen this mentioned In any of the other reviews. Another thing that I think is worth mentioning is that my old chairs I always had to struggle a bit to get it in the bag and always wished that they made the bag just slightly bigger and this one is that way it's not that it's swimming in the bag it's just slightly bigger ... very nice.. Enjoy 🕵🏻
