Amazing keyboard!
I’ve been loving this keyboard so far. You can customize each key to do whatever you want, and you can also enable snap-tap if that’s something you’re interested in. The keys feel very nice and sound amazing. And if you want them to feel a little less clacky, they include a tiny bag of orange o-rings to suppress that clicky sound. I play a lot of rhythm games, which means I am a little aggressive when it comes to pressing the keys. This keyboard doesn’t have any signs of use so far though. The build quality is great. It comes with, what I’m guessing, is an aluminum top which just looks and feels much better than regular old plastic. It connects using a micro-USB to USB-A, which is easily compatible with pretty much any PC or laptop you can buy. It doesn’t take up a lot of space on my desk. If you don’t use the number pad then I do recommend getting TKL so it takes up a lot less space so you have more too on your desk.

All around great keyboard
Really superb all around keyboard. Price is great (I got it at $60), design is clean and not too in your face, which is welcome from Razer, build quality is solid, and quite pleased with the switches. The lettering looks really clean on the keyboard, and the backlighting is just right, not too bright or soft. Keyboard material, albeit seeming to be mostly plastic, still has a nice texture and premium feel to it. These Razer orange switches (brown equivalent) are wonderful and have made a noticeable difference for me when typing, both as a gamer and as a programmer. They are certainly an outright upgrade from the Outemu reds I had been using at my desk at home previously (I liked the smooth action but found I made a lot of mistakes with the low actuation force of the red switches), and I'll give them a slight edge in terms of personal preference for the softer switch action of the brown switch as opposed to the Cherry MX Blue switches I have in my keyboard at the office (currently not seeing much use, obviously). I am not ultra-sensitive to switch quality, I just prefer a keyboard with clean action and quality build, and after finally having given this style of switch a try I don't think I can go back. My only two *very minor* gripes are these: 1. Aesthetic from the side of the keyboard is a bit strange. The keycaps are very short in height and so the components underneath each key are visible, including the switch+switch housing. Seems like that's the aesthetic they're going for, just not my personal taste, and it's unnoticeable from above, which is where I'm mostly seeing the keyboard from anyway. 2. Keyboard deck warped ever so slightly at one point so that it wasn't sitting flush with the desk. Not sure if this will resurface in the future, but I was able to unwarp it using raw man power (aka a very light bend back in the correct direction) and it has been sitting fine for over a week since I noticed the issue. These are not deal breakers in the slightest, just for others to be aware of when purchasing. Still love the keyboard, and certainly not worth subtracting a star.

Good purchase!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I “downgrading” from a full sized blackwidow rgb keyboard. I found it too noisy and wanted something a little bit smaller on the desk. I found this keyboard to be the perfect match for me. First of all, I wanted to stay in the Razer ecosystem and this had all of the features I wanted quieter switches and no 10 keys. Design: It is a quality keyboard I would say the switches are not super quiet, but it is a good sound that doesn’t wake up the whole family. The keyboard has a solid white LED color, which I don’t mind. This keyboard could work in a professional work environment.

it does it's job well
For reference I've had it since April 9, 2020 with the green switches. The keyboard works great and the RGB aspects of it are fantastic especially thanks to the layer under the keys that helps diffuse the light. It's a TKL which is great for that extra mouse room. I do have issues with it though. The switches aren't particularly smooth since I got it, you can feel it scrape a bit, I assume some lube would fix that pretty easily but I'd expect a better out of the box quality for it's price. They also don't have a good consistency even out of the box. You can press a key then the one right next to it and they sound very different and have a bit of a different feel from each other but it's not as noticeable unless you actively test it and compare. The wrist rest is a nice addition, it feels very comfortable to use, I do kind of have an issue with mine where basically in just a month as you can see in the pictures the left part of it started like... bubbling up making it feel slightly rougher. Overall it's a good keyboard, it's pretty heavy which is great since it doesn't move around while gaming, wish it had a metal top plate for it's price and not a fan of the Razer switches compared to having Cherry MX switches like in previous Razer Keyboards but they get the job done and they feel alright. If you get it during a sale and it has a good discount, go for it, totally reccomend it. Not reccomended at it's normal value of $140, for that price you can get something better.

Perfect. Only issue is Synapse and everyone hates that anyway.
So, unlike a lot of other people on here, I'm just going to say this keyboard is perfect for me so far. Yeah, if you get a defective product from ANYWHERE, you send it back and get a new one. When you buy electronics of any type you do have a risk of not receiving a flawless one, yes. Welcome to technology. Anyways, I got this keyboard with the orange switches and I love them. My last keyboard was a K65 LUX RGB which has a similar form factor and used Cherry MX Reds. These Razer Orange keys have a bump before they're fully pressed down which gives a nice amount of feedback while typing or gaming. The sound is very.. tight and feels mostly contained within the keyboard itself. The version with orange switches is not even remotely loud compared to a lot of other switches, most of the noise is just the keys bottoming out above the faceplate (which I believe is also metal.) Very nice sound without being overbearing. Lighting? Perfect if the software works. I have a Lancehead mouse and I organized these on the virtual table on Chroma Studio to talk to each other and it works flawlessly with whatever color design or scheme you want. Doesn't feel like I've ever missed any keys registering and the MAGNETIC wrist rest is absolutely incredible. If you have very, very big hands you may not be able to comfortably use it but I feel that goes for most keyboards. Probably shouldn't get a TKL in that case. Build feels nice, a little heavy, some plastic, some metal. Detachable cable is braided, and.. detachable. Quickly recognized and working after plugged in. I got this for $70 on sale which is an unbelievable deal and I probably should have bought more than one. I would not pay more than 100 or 120 at the most though.. at that point you might get into what COULD be slightly more premium things. Different market. If it's around 100 get it. It puts letters on a screen. (Edit: June 2025 and I am still using this keyboard. Absolutely perfect. Shame they got rid of the orange switches.)

Compact and comfy for office use
First off, I am not a gamer. I bough this keyboard for my home office setup exclusively for work. Was tired of the slim, flat keyboards and wanted to have something that is better built. Took a little bit getting used to the full key press but once I did, everything is fine and dandy. I got the orange switch despite ordering yellow, (bummer Amazon) but chose to keep it. The included Synapse software is powerful but there is a bit of a learning curve. Pros: - Despite being ABS, keycaps are pretty good. Light shines through each letter perfectly - The key response time is excellent. Very little typo once you adjust to the spacing after spending a year on a laptop - Works perfectly fine (no lights) without the software on the work computer. If your company is allergic to installing third party stuff, you can still use the keyboard without the bells and whistles - PALM REST: I hated palm rests in the past, until I tried this one. It is just the right amount of soft, perfect size and the magnetic connection does not break Cons: - Honestly nothing to note so far, hence the 5* review

Excellent keyboard
Love this keyboard. This is the 4th mechanical keyboard I have in 10 years. Used 12 hours a day for programming, writing, and gaming. Bright, even, pleasant neutral-white backlighting is crisp and even, great to not have to deal with blinking and pulsing RGB toys. Keys are pleasant and clicky, with great feedback. Removable USB cable is great for switching between computers, and for transport. Easily removable yet durable keycaps make it easy to clean, too. Lack of a numpad is great for those of us who don't use it, the space saving is surprisingly significant, the keyboard no longer dominates desk space. The only potential con is, the bottom half of the keycaps is not backlit (ie the 4 glows, the $ does not). However, in my experience this isn't an issue. Though as a software dev I touch-type the symbol keys, obviously I can't touch-type the keyboard-specific volume, multimedia, and brightness keys - and yet, the glow of the monitor is enough to make them usable even at night. If you are visually impaired, or otherwise need to be able to clearly see the symbol keys, this may be significant for you, but only if you plan on using this keyboard in total darkness. If you're like me and won't be hampered by this, go for it! You won't regret it.

Arrived with loose space bar, was able to fix, but...
Review is for the BlackWidow TE Chroma V2 TKL. This keyboard had an unacceptably loose, wiggly space bar. I would have returned the keyboard but I took the space bar off and was able to tighten up the action by bending the wire guide and adding a rubber o-ring to the switch. Not ideal. When everything works properly this is a nice keyboard. I docked one star for the quality control problems and a second star, bringing it to three, because Razer made some design decisions with this keyboard that are bad for gaming. Let's start with the wrist rest. I feel this is a real shame, because the wrist wrest is super comfortable, but: I find it sucks for gaming. It is too high, leaving the left hand elevated above the keys with no real tactile feedback on where over the keys the hand is positioned. The feedback from the wrist rest is uniformly pillowy. Again, very comfortable and feels marvelous, but not good for gaming. Particularly a game where the left hand is moving around and reaching a lot for hotkeys. Think RTS like StarCraft 2 or MMOs or MOBAs. I'm using the keyboard without the wrist rest which yields better results, but then the profile and angle of the keyboard feels tall and severe, respectively. Next, and this is a serious gripe: The keys are a slick ABS with no, and I mean NO, texture. This contributes again to problems with keystroke accuracy because there is no texture feedback from the keys. When using the wrist rest it is like having a keyboard that you can barely feel under your hand. Again, comfortable but it is bad for gaming. The fact that Razer sells textured PBT keycaps separately is pretty offensive. This is an expensive keyboard and they should have shipped it with the superior keycaps. I don't love it enough to spend an extra $30 making the keycaps not-terrible, because that leaves the combined problem of the wrist rest and tall profile. Some positive points. There are more than a few. I got the orange switches and they have a light, satisfying tactical feel with none of the clicky noise. Rubber o-rings can be used, making this a very quiet keyboard with them installed. I used clear o-rings to minimize disruption to the lighting. I'm a forceful typist and I make all but the quietest keyboards obnoxiously loud, so this degree of quiet in a mechanical keyboard is exactly what I was looking for. Without the rubber o-rings it still clacks quite a bit when the keys bottom out. My spouse hates clicky keyboards in the house. The software allows a lot of customization of the lighting. It is very cool. The HyperShift functionality allows Caps Lock to function as a software-based modifier. Through software, every key with the exception of the Windows, Fn and F1 through F12 keys can be reprogrammed with alternative actions in either regular or HyperShift mode. The macro support is good, but note: Certain uses of the macro features on devices like this can get you banned from online games, especially competitive ones. So exercise caution and restraint. ;) This is a nice keyboard to type on even though I don't love it for gaming. The palm/wrist rest is very comfortable, the key action is good with keys that don't move around too much under my fingers. The ergonomics of the modifier keys is excellent, and the modifiers are large making it easier to find them. Windows key, Alt+F4 and Alt+Tab can be disabled through gaming mode. Key travel is a little shorter than your average mechanical keyboard, and with rubber o-rings it becomes even shorter, bottoming out around 3mm. I like that. I also bought a Deathadder V2 mouse and unfortunately had to return the first one for being defective and already retired the second one for being ineffective due to a poorly designed and implemented right mouse button. I tried to give Razer a go with this build but I won't be staying with their products.
