Sonar Game, Multicolor (43227-1996)

Great game! Very thematic and thinky while still being easy to learn! Does not play well with all casual gamers, but anyone who loves cat and mouse, hidden movement games will probably love this. I actually prefer it to Sonar, since it's hard to get 8 people to the table, and this can easily be played real time with Sonar Family rules. Plus, I'm fairly certain you could add the Sonar expansion Operation Dragon, and still play that campaign with 8 people and a much cheaper base game.

Our family loves this game! Think Battleship, but you are commanding just one submarine and it is able to move! One on one, or team play, you track your opponents movements, attempting to discover their location. Surface your sub to throw your opponent off your track, or send out a torpedo if you know his location. Two hits (which is not as easy as it sounds) and you sink his sub and win. The production quality is quite nice, especially for such an affordably priced game. It may be too light for heavy gamers, but it makes a great game to play with kids!

This game is so fun!! We play it in teams and always have a good time. It’s kinda like the old battleship game but you work with a partner. My elderly parents liked it also. Great team building game.

While Captain Sonar is more exciting than this version of the game this is a great version of the game when you don't have too many people to play with. If you usually get large get togethers, definitely go with CAPTAIN Sonar

Very fun trimmed down version of Captain Sonar. Love how easy it was to play and teach.

This came highly recommended by a board game reviewer I watch on YouTube. He's usually spot on, so I trusted him, but I don't get this one. It's like battleship for adults, but kind of needlessly complex, and if you make a wrong move early on you're kind of screwed for the rest of the game. I guess if we played it more we would get better at it, but I don't really think it has enough replayability to be worth the time. I'd rather just play battleship honestly.

this is a hidden movement game. It is Loads of fun. Easy to understand the rules and play. Takes Battleship to the next level. This is a good game for kids and adults a like. Great price for endless fun.

I'm a huge fan of captain sonar but often times frustrated to find 6-8 experienced players to have a real submarine battle. Sonar is a good substitution, 4 players with a little bit rule variation, you can still play the real-time game in a simplified way.

Unique and clever

We played this with friends over zoom - so has been a good option for playing under COVID conditions. I am yet to play with face to face - but look forward toeing able to do that

Este es un juego sencillo, divertido y con un gran potencial para estrategia. Es como el clásico Battleship (Batalla naval) pero mejorado y se puede jugar con hasta cuatro personas. Este juego es un Equipo vs Equipo, donde cada equipo puede estar conformado por 1 o 2 personas, cada equipo controla un submarino y debe encontrar y destruir el submarino enemigo para ganar. Es un excelente juego para pequeños y grandes y que puede servir como introducción al juego más complejo Captain Sonar. La caja del juego llegó en excelente estado. Los componentes del juego son de relativa buena calidad, los únicos detalles que encontré fueron algunos defectos de fábrica en las láminas transparentes, ya que venían un poco arrugadas a pesar de que la caja no mostraba ninguna señal de maltrato. Otro problema es la caja en sí, la tapa es muy apretada y es muy difícil de abrir, de hecho rompí un poco la caja al intentar abrirla. Son detalles pequeños y por eso se queda con 4 estrellas este juego

Huge fan of the captain sonar game. This is a much more simpler version. Incredibly fun and way more strategic than battleship.
