Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bradt Travel Guides)

I read in another review that this book had "too much information". I strongly disagree. We did a road trip through the Balkans this summer and this book was hands down my favorite that I used. No matter the smallness of the city we were driving through, this book had recommendations on cool things to see, great places to eat, and interesting sights nearby. This is an absolutely wonderful resource for Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country that is not to be missed.

Very very detailed and informative. I was looking for a book that would give me an overview of Bosnia-Herzegovina so I found it to be too detailed for my purposes. Lots of information for backpackers.

This is a really good publisher of guides for the Balkans. My favorite one.

There are not a lot of books on these countries, but I am finding this helpful as we plan a driving trip with three other women. I compare his recommendations with those I find online...two sources are always better than one!

There are very few up to date and useful guides to Bosnia and Herzegovina. However here is a notable book which is truly excellent. Suitable for both planning a trip and for handy reference once there. Lots of colour photographs and concise easy to read maps. Extensive details regarding how to get there, recommendations for where to stay, eat and drink or party (broken down into categories by budget and/or location) and what to see and do in each location. Well written and researched. In my opinion, this is the best (and possibly only) guide currently available for this part of the former Yugoslavia.

I like the Insight and Everyman guides best as they have heaps of lovely pictures and pages with a lovely feel to them, but when yiou can't get a guide in one of those brands, this Bratt's is excellent and full of info, perhaps more than in the prettier guides, so it depends what you need. Recommended.
