Okay, what's with all these codes for hair now?? Who determines what your hair type is anyway?? Forgive my ignorance please..(4c/3c) what is this??

It describes the size of your curl. To cut a long story short: Kinky hair is Type 4, 3 is curly, 2 is wavy and 1 is straight. It is very common to have more than one than one curl type. Mine range from 3b-4b. However, other hair characteristics (eg porosity, texture/strand thickness and density) are much more important when it comes to choosing products.
