Good cheap solution for products that need to drain fat
Use this for bacon and sausage rolls and it works effectively in draining away fat. The only slight negative is cleaning as even though you can put it in a dishwasher, fat traces in the corners and by the ridges get trapped. Even hand washing you have to really scrub into corners to get all the fat out

Adequate.
It does cook crispy bacon in the microwave in minutes, however we no lid bacon fat gets left behind in the microwave, (since purchased similar item with lid)!

Better than more expensive ones
These microwave bacon crispers are great! I have used them over and over and they have yet to bubble or look used. I have more expensive white ones that bubbled the first time I used them but these red ones have not! The price was super too. I use them for everything in the microwave too. Excellent kitchen kit.

"Bacon" crisper - for other things
Stuck with limited access to an oven I picked this up to see how effective it was with other things, principally veggie food. The reason for trying with other things is I'm fed up with using the microwave and the moisture collecting at the bottom leading to "damp" crusts etc. the grid on the crisper seemed a good way to allow air to circulate and avoid the worst of this (knowing that microwaving food for an oven is never going to lead to as good a result). It arrived today and after four trials I can say I'm pretty happy, they were:- Started simple, warmed up a pasty. Normally in a microwave these would start to fall apart, not here. Still a little damp (as to be expected), but the moisture collected on the tray, away from the pastry leaving it easy to eat.- Moving onto something a little tougher, baguette pizza. These are 20 minutes in the oven from frozen, or 3 minutes on the tray. When heated up on a plate these normally come out as if they have been dipped in water. They were not crisp as if oven-baked (I didn't expect them to be), but not having the bread base fall apart was a win in itself. All told quite impressed and looking forward to seeing if it will also work with frozen mini-pizza.- Stepping up a little, chips, well actually potato lattices. In for a few minutes and then on minute increments. They didn't crisp (wasn't expecting them to), but when stuck with only a microwave to cook with they came out better than any others (save microwave chips, but not seen them in a shop for ages).- Given previous success one final test: halloumi. This is where it met its match, as the cheese softened it just melted into the raised base so no real effect. All in all, a few quid well spent and more than a few more options in the supermarket of things to microwave that come out edible! Looking forward to trying veggie burgers later in the week!
