This is a super little box and the photograph doesn't do it justice.The carving is medium deep (just right for the size and shape of the box) and the colour is subtler (less orange) than in the photograph.The wood of the box is thick and the lid fits snugly. The hinges are recessed (they don't stick out too much from the surface of the box). Inside, the lid and base are lined with medium red ('Christmas red') plush, which sets off the wood very well indeed.There are no sharp edges anywhere (such as the hinges on the inside of the box, or the box corners). The underneath of the box is smooth and stained and polished the same colour as the upper sides.Amazing value for money and something which will be with me for a very long time (unless someone takes a fancy for it and I feel obliged to offer it to them, in which case I will instantly be back here on Amazon buying another one!).The box arrived the day after I ordered it (which these days is worth five stars on its own).I’m extremely pleased with my purchase.

This product is very functional, small in size but perfect for storing rings in etc. Lid fits tightly so no worries about losing stuff. The carvings are extricate and very beautifully done.

This is so lovely and great quality! Size seems a little on tighter size on the inside. But still very good value for money.

Artistically and elaborately made. Solid gift for life to use and enjoy. Good decorative piece for any dressing table or bookshelf.

I like it, its unique and very well made. I did however have to make some adjustments as the lid would not open or close properly.
