Q: How easy is this to set up? i'm not a diy person. does anyone have any tips?

These are really easy to set up and I feel that even a 10/12 year old could do this with ease.

Q: Where is the switch situated on this product? I cannot seem to see it in the pictures and it does not state its location in the description.

switch is in the cable line between plug in transformer and the 6 way connector box.it has no ready means of fixing but self adhesive strips are protected but I suggest use something a it more heavy duty. Cable connector are a very tight fit and led strip mounts so flimsy but the light when fitted is very good.

Q: Can you hard wire these LED lights?

If by, `Hard wired`, you mean removing the plug and wiring directly to the back of a socket or to the ring main then i would say No. I believe the plug you would have to remove is also the transformer that reduces the 240v mains power to 12v that the LEDs run on, so wiring them directly to a 240v power source would, at best, melt some insulation and blow the fuse or at worst cause a FIRE.and burn down your house. leave the wiring alone and just plug `em in.

Q: do the 1m cables join together to make 2m, also do the lights connect to each other to make a 600 long light ?

You can join the lights together to make a 600mm strip but the 1m cables don't join together. Hope this helps
