Would I be able to use thisdrill stand with a cordless drill?

Where is this stand made? (which country)

This is my first Clarke product and suspect it'll be my last. The adjusting screws shredded after only a little use and I've found it almost impossible to bolt the vice to the base. To be constantly trying to replace different pieces of work to the vice and move it over the base has been almost impossible. The plastic collar 'holding' the neck of the drill is very flimsy and allows the drill to shift in use. This was the cheaper end of the market because I wanted to 'test the water. My mistake!
