Really warm
This is my second. I still have the first one, but now I have a spare. I wore the first one the week of snowmageddon a few years back. Outside all day for a week in temperatures from 3 to 20. I actually started sweating. I thought I was too warmly dressed, which I was, but the hat was the bright spot. If I started sweating, I would take it off for 10 minutes of so then put it back on. It's just a fleece hat... my fleece jacket doesn't work anywhere near this well. And, it's not like I don't wear a hat normally. This little piece of fleece is worth it's weight in gold.

Basically, this is the only thing in their inventory Carhartt hasn't cheap out on, downgraded, reduced wearability, and increased the price on yet.
