Q: Does this webcam work with Windows XP proffessional?

It would appear that the short answer is "No". According to Logitech, the supported operating systems are Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit) or Windows 8. However, according to another Logitech source (http://support.logitech.com/product/hd-pro-webcam-c920), the answer would be "Yes". You just have to select the right option (for Windows XP) when you download the Logitech Webcam Software (at the Logitech web site).

Q: Is there a remote available to control vertical and horizontal panning as well as zoom on the C920 USB HD Pro Webcam ?

All controls are available on the key board and mouse on screen. There is no separate control unit as far as I am aware.

Q: Can I upload to youtube with this

I have checked my settings and ad far as I can see youtube is no compatable with this camera.

Q: I want to record the dog when I am out - can I set it to do this

Yes, if you leave your computer on. PC software version at least has a motion detection mode so that you can record.
