Home made butter is the best !
This is a fantastic product. Incredibly easy to make butter and it now takes me about 8 minutes to convert double cream into the creamiest butter you could want. Tips on use - try to have it on a hard surface when you're churning (not on your lap in front of the TV as I did first time) - it's just easier to churn and seems to turn into butter faster when it's on a solid surface. Don't be afraid to have a peek into the jar mid-churn to see how it's doing. My first go I have several peeks and pokes and it didn't seem to adversely affect the final product - although it did take the best part of an hour to churn ! I've now tried all available double creams in Sainsburys and Tescos - I was surprised to see the organic / higher quality looking creams had higher fat and sugar contents. I tried Elmlea - it takes up to an hour to churn and then you get about a third of the butter you get with the same amount of conventional cream. I now use the standard own brand double creams and it churns in about 8 minutes. The butter milk is delicious to drink or can be used in cooking. (I put muslin over a jug / bowl then pour the butter and butter milk in, lifting the butter out in the muslin). And I've found that rinsing the butter whilst it's still in the muslin means you don't lose any and is less hassle then trying to rinse it in the jar, as is recommended. The churner itself feels quite sturdy.

Easy Peasy & fun !
Works well - easy to use & had butter separate from the buttermilk in about 8 minutes rinsed in 3 & patted out in about the same & the whole process was done in about 15 minutes - easy to clean up the churner after & the butter is the best I have ever had - I was chuffed with the results & found it an enjoyable thing to do - use it regularly now - recommend.

Expensive for what it is
It does work (and the butter was lovely) but is not particularly robust so not sure for how long. It looks nice but I think it's more of a gimmick than an essential kitchen appliance. Wish I had gone for a hand held electric whisk instead and would possibly have been cheaper

Really bad after sales service, avoid this product it won’t last.
Cheap and nasty product, it broke the 3rd time we used it, the after sales service is awful, I have called them, emailed them and filled out their online enquiry form and I have still not received any sort of response from them. The welds on the clips that hold the lid to the jar has broken, a weak point on the product but when they break “Kilner” ignore your calls. The name of Kilner doesn’t mean what it used to!

Great gift for anyone who likes to make their own food
I bought this for my mother and she absolutely loves it! It's a great tool for making homemade butter, it's easy to use and the results are great. The churner is made of durable glass and it comes with a special lid that keeps the butter inside while it's churning. The handle is easy to grip and the churning process is smooth and consistent. My mother has used it to make butter with different kinds of cream and it works great every time. The butter comes out creamy and delicious. Clean up is easy too, just rinse it out and it's ready to use again. I'm so impressed by this churner that I'm tempted to get one for myself, it's a great addition to any kitchen, especially for those who enjoy making their own butter.

Making your own butter at home is a doddle with this!
Kilner. What can I say about such an iconic brand? I own several Kilner jars so it was a bit of a no brainer when I wanted to start making my own butter. You do have to make sure it's nice and clean before you first use it but then you'd do that anyway wouldn't you? Make sure your cream is room temperature before attempting to churn. I've tried chunring cold before just to see how it would work and well...it didn't. After half an hour I still had a jar of cold double cream. When your cream is at room temperature this little butter churn will churn it quickly into your own butter and it's your choice to make it salted or unsalted. This churn is great for the novice and expert alike to use and I'd recommend it for anyone that wants to give home-made butter a go. Just be prepared for the wheel to become very hard to turn when you're almost there, but it will soon become easy to churn again when you've scraped all the butter off your paddles and back into the jar - oh, and put a few trays of water in ice cube trays the day before - you'll need the ice to wash the butter when it's made - and you also get lots of lovely buttermilk as a by-product that you can use in other recipes. I've found this makes lovely buttermilk pancakes!

This was a good buy. Although it may seem pricey, because of duties/traiffs, remember that is is something that you'll have for decades to come. Makes the butter making process so much easier! Thanks to the seller for delivering the product 5 days earlier than the expected date!
