Remote good - instructions for programming could be better
Written instruction for programming could be clearer. Followed you tube video and programming was easy. Other than that the product does exactly what it should.

Works like a CHARM!
Amazing and highly recommended But check your existing remote frequency and type first before buying. In my case we had an old FAAC remote where I found the 868-MHZ frequency-reference on the print board inside. The packed in instructions are limited and confusing. However - please read the VERY clear instructions of one of the top reviewers (Rattycube, February 2016) & don't forget to be polite and give him/her your "helpful" vote!. The set up took me less then 3 minutes. And it works. So very good value for money given that our gate company was going to charge me 60 GBP for a new remote control. We'll see how durable the device is, but it didn't miss my low expectations. And I will update the review if necessary. I'm not using the flimsy supplied cord and small metal ring to connect it to my key chain, as I fear it will simply break soon through wear.

Easy to program, imperative you look at instructions before attempting
We purchased this as a direct replacement to the FAAC DL2 868SLH which has been discontinued. Because I had looked at the instructions several times it took me a couple of minuets to program a new "master" remote/transmitter. My advice before even contemplating doing any of this this look at the videos and instructions before even pressing a button. It will save you allot of headaches. it is relatively straight forward when you watch the videos! If you’re looking for a good set of instructions go directly to the FAAC UK website. Select Product Range --> Accessories --> Radio Control, --> Coding Instructions 868Mhz. There are two ways to code this device. Coding using and existing "master" remote OR Coding to a Receiver. 1. Coding using and existing "master" remote, essentially cloning. If you are trying to code/clone it using an existing remote, it is essential that the existing remote is a master and not a slave remote. If it is a slave you have to set-up the device using the receiver, option 2. I spoke to the tech department at FAAC and the chap said that to create a Master remote you have to choose the 2nd Option and Code the device directly to the receiver. How to recognise a master/slave transmitter - Master: If you press any key of a master transmitter, the LED flashes before becoming steady - Slave: If you press any key of a slave transmitter, the LED goes on immediately with steady light Differences between master and slave transmitter - Master: Only a master transmitter can transfer its “system code” to decoding card/RP receivers and to other Transmitters (master or slave). -Slave: Unable to transfer its “system code and, therefore cannot be either duplicated, or used for coding systems. Can learn the “system code” from a master transmitter Coding instructions - Coding using an existing "master" remote Transmitter Coding 1. Take a WORKING transmitter and push buttons P1 and P2 simultaneously. The LED will start to flash. 2. Let go of both buttons, the LED should remain flashing for 10 seconds and then press and hold the button that works the gates already, the LED should now be steadily lit. 3. Keeping the button held down, pick up the new transmitter and touch the two together LED to LED. 4. STILL keeping the working transmitter button held down, also press and hold the same button down on the NEW transmitter as well 5. Now you’re holding down the same button on each transmitter, the LED on the NEW transmitter should flash twice and go out 6. Let go of the button on the NEW transmitter. 7. Now let go of the button on the WORKING transmitter. 8. Point the NEW transmitter at the gates and press and hold down the button you have just coded for approximately 2 seconds, nothing will happen. 9. Let go and then press and hold it again. Your transmitter should log on to the decoder (which is what the transmitters talk to, in order to operate the gate/door) and start to work 10. Repeat steps 1 to 9 for any other new transmitters you have 2. Coding to a Receiver (my preferred option). If you are going to code the remote at the receiver it is imperative you take allot of care and know exactly which button(s) to press before starting. If you don't have a "master' transmitter (remote) you will have to use this option. Coding instructions Transmitter (remote) Coding using a RP receiver 1. Take a WORKING transmitter (remote) and push buttons P1 and P2 simultaneously. The LED will start to flash 2. Let go of both buttons, and press and hold P1. there should be a steady blue light. 3. Whilst holding P1 on the transmitter (remote) press and keep holding the button on the RP receiver, a red LED will turn on and off, on and off and then on 4. let go of the button on the RP receiver 5. Let go of P1 on the transmitter (remote) 6. Press P1 on the transmitter for 2 seconds and you should notice the red LED appears on the RP Receiver, then let go 7. Repeat step six by pressing P1 on the transmitter for 2 seconds and the red LED appears giving the command for the operator to move. 8. Process complete NB. there are different types of receivers such as an RP, E124, E024s. The latter two require different buttons being pressed. please go to the FAAC website at the top of the review for a specific guide.
