Lyman E-Zee Case Gauge

I bought this to speed my process for trimming cases. I verified the case length of the gauge using my digital calipers, and it's right on the money. It makes a great "Go/NoGo" gauge to evaluate which brass needs to be trimmed, and which is good to go as is, then use it to confirm you've trimmed to the correct length. Calipers are still great, but this is fast. Definitely a good buy.

This gauge is very sturdy and works well for me. It is larger than I expected which makes it even easier to use. It was a good value for the money.

I will be honest. I always thought if I use this it would make me Calibers stupid. After reloading for many years. It was Stupid not to. So many calibers to load and my Gun Collection is viral and has a life of its own. I go into gun shops and they ask me questions. I SEEM TO ALWAYS GET A CALIBER STUCK WERE IT DOESN'T GO, BECAUSE IT SOMEHOW GOT MIXED IN WITH its ALMOST EXACT LOOK ALIKE? SoNow I reload only casings that have been quick checked. Its fast and almost dont even look. Its a great go/no go gauge

The one I received is aluminum and is black with white lettering. Covers most of your common shells, and if you using a shell that has the same OAL as a listed shell it will work fine. It would be nice if the lettering were etched in a bit as the letter can scratch off kind of easy. I recommend storing it in carefully so that doesn't happen, I hang mine on a peg board.

This was originally purchased just to fill an order price wise and became a go to item quickly. Do wish it had 300 blackout but I took care of that by cutting one I will never use down to 300 length. Make a quick check of case length so easy I do it much more often than I did before especially on the 300 since they are a cut down and resized 5.56. Also do so with rifle rounds I have shot more than once on a reload. I don't think it is needed for most pistol rounds and rarely use it for those. Nice price and handy item.

WOW! This is a great tool for checking the length of your casings before reloading. Simply place your empty casing along the straight lower level, slide it towards the proper caliber, and it's a simple GO-NO GO. If it fits, the length is ready for reloading. If it does not fit, the casing will need to be trimmed. This is far faster than using a caliper. My average time per casing was in the range of one checked every 3 to 4 seconds! It is made of a reasonably heavy (ie, substantial) metal and should last for years. One caveat is that the photo shows a white metal gauge with black lettering, but mine came with a black metal and white letters. I think the black on white, as shown in the photo, would be easier on aging eyes. Not sure why they (Lyman) reversed the color scheme.

Works for what I need. I take my brass put it into in the correct slot if it fits its good if not it gets trimmed. It's not a Necessary tool but I find it more convenient then useing calipers
