Type C Wireless Charging Receiver, Nillkin Ultra Slimming Qi Wireless Charging Receiver with USB C [Long Version] for Google Pixel 3a / OnePlus 6 / 6T / 7/7 Pro and Other Large Phones

My Google Nexus 5X is showing its age and the USB socket is becoming a little loose so that it it has to be coaxed into doing a recharge. I wondered if a wireless charging pad would solve the problem as, once it's in place, there's no need to touch it again. And, I have to say, it's worked brilliantly. The USB connector sits virtually flush against the bottom edge of the phone and the cable and pad lie flat on the back, taking up very little space. The pad is easy to attach with the supplied adhesive strip, although I would advise using a slim case to protect the whole assembly. [I'm using a Rinke SLIM – see my separate review.] I've completed the package with a Seneo SWC2 wireless cradle and a RAVPower 30W fast charger. Again, I've reviewed these separately. I used to see wireless charging as unnecessarily flash. But now I've introduced it for practical reasons, I've realized it's actually very useful. I can just pop the phone on charge any time I'm in the office for a few minutes, without fiddling with cables. It's surprisingly helpful and convenient. UPDATE: I've just replaced my ageing Nexus with a Motorola One and bought another charging pad for this phone. There are few better recommendations than repeat buys. Although, of course, the USB C on the new phone is absolutely fine, I've found the convenience of wireless charging indispensable. It's especially useful in the car, where I can charge the phone while using Google Maps. It doesn't charge fast if it's using such a power-hungry app but it does, at worst, maintain its level. If I'm not using apps, it recharges at about 10% an hour.

Nice product which I bought for my Oneplus 3. Charging is of course slower than using the Dash charging. But if you are used to placing your phone down in certain place and it charges (which is what I have had for the last three years with the Nokia Lumia phones), then it is not an issue. It is bulkyier than one I had for my iphone 6, but sits nicely under my slimline Oneplus 3 official case. The connector on the iPhone 6 one used to bug me as the edges felt like they needed burring. One this one you still feel the connector at the bottom when you hold it, but the edge are nicely rounded. The pictures seem to suggest the cable comes out at 90 degrees to the socket, but has a recess so the cable once plugged in is parallel to the connector, ie running back towards the phone. This one seems a little more sensitive to placement than in my Nokia Lumia phone, but suspect the Lumia had more antenna loops than this device. That being said, it works well.

Shame my newest phone doesn’t have wireless charging but this little gadget does the trick. Clever design and works even with a leather case on the phone. Easy to install and works a treat AMA it is such a bargain. I don’t know why all mobile phones aren’t wireless given how little this cost and incorporating it into the phone would just make sense. The only hassle is if you need the usb port then it is a bit of a fiddle to get the wireless charger out. But given that I rarely need the usb port it isn’t really a problem.

I knew it was a gamble to buy this after reading the mixed reviews but I've recently bought a Google Pixel 4a and wanted to make use of my wireless chargers. Attaching it was simple, it fit well under my phone case and even charged through my phone case which is sort of a medium thickness, not super chunky but not ultra slim either, however, it only charged just over 10% before it started making disturbing high pitched noises and soon after started disconnecting frequently. I even took my phone case off to check if that would help at all but no, the product didn't even last an hour out of the box before it started acting up. Just remember that Qi compatible DOES NOT mean Qi certified.

I'm just about to order another replacement, which will be my 4th one since 2021. I find these work well for around 12 to 18 months under a protective case and then the charging becomes intermittent before stopping completely. I feel having to unplug if you need to charge with a cable weakens the connection. Yes it really should really be better build quality and last longer, but it does work well under a slim case for a while. So why buy it again? Well it works for a reasonable time and costs less than £1 a month so it's not breaking the bank, and for the convenience of wireless charging I feel it's worth it.

By mistake I ordered a non wireless charging phone for my wife. The choice was to return it and buy a more expensive. I gave this adaptor a try and so pleased I did. It's quite delicate so needs to be protected by a phone case. It worked straight away and I tested it for heat problems etc. Worked perfectly. Ordered a second item for my own phone. Two things to bear in mind: - A. The actual advert appears to show 2 adaptors. It's not. It's only 1 with an image of the back and front of the adaptor. B. They are quite delicate and not intended to removed once installed. I have a cradle type charger at home and a disk type in the car, with both working fine. Plugging a cable in is a thing of the past.

I have to say I was a bit dubious about this product, but at the price it was worth trying out. I got it for a One Plus 3 which has super quick (plug in) DASH charging, so alot to live up to, but as it turned out I wasn't disappointed. Having said that this product doesn't claim to be lightning fast at charging and if you take it for what it is, I've found it still does a reasonably quick job... it will be perfect for overnight use when quick charging time isn't essential. Quality seems spot on and I've no reason to doubt it won't be durable based on first impressions. I've a leather (Stilgut), full body case with front flap. Be aware that this receiver isn't paper thin (about 1.6mm at its thickest) but it still fitted smoothly and invisibly between my cover and the phone. I'd image this might not be the case with all covers, probably worth bearing in mind. I'm utilising a Samsung S Charger and the phone begins to charge immediately it's set on with no need to move it about to connect, even with a cover on the phone. The plug in connector is a good, tight fit. If you think you'll be regularly switching between wireless and cable charging this might be an inconvenience (and possibly cause undue wear and tear) as it needs a bit of effort to get out. At a glance, appearance wise the connector is reasonably flush and discreet, with rounded corners so it won't snag on anything. This isn't a criticism, more a suggestion, but if it were black instead of bare metal it would be even less noticible. Over all I'm genuinely surprised and pleased with this item. If like me you intend to keep it fitted as your sole means of charging (ideally over night) and have a case that will accomodate the thickness easily I'd thoroughly recommed this product.

They technically work, but are too thick and stop me using any case on my phone. I can't see an IPS rating either, so I wouldn't want it on the outside incase it gets wet.
