Worked perfectly, buy this instead of the cheap one.
As others have said, you may gawk at paying that much more than a cheap unbranded one but TRUST ME, it's worth the extra money. I bought one that was less than £5 and it just stripped all it's threads and rendered itself useless because the metal was so soft and cheap. This Park Tool one is much higher quality and stood up to a really stiff crank, I had to put a lot of force to pull it off and the puller handled it no problem. From a design perspective I think it's also superior, the cheap ones come with a small spanner that you slot between the two pieces, because its so short you can't get much leverage and the crank arm can get in the way. The Park Tool however uses a standard hex nut arrangement meaning you can use a spanner of any handle size, or even better a ratchet & socket (you'll need a 22mm and 15mm metric socket). Overall, yes it could be cheaper, but Park Tool knows it has a superior product and it's worthwhile paying extra for, you won't regret it.

Happy I paid a premium price for an item worth every penny.
Buy this without a doubt. Even a novice like me has been able to efficiently pull crank without any damage to components and it felt so easy. Item is of high quality and will last a lifetime if sprayed with ACF50 when required and stored neatly. Yes it is a bit pricey but you are getting an item that has set the benchmark.

My first Park Tool tool but it won't be my last
This the the first Park Tool tool I have purchased, based on this I will probably get more. Genuinely impressed with the quality of this tool and it saved me from an expensive trip to the bike shop. I have a cheap crank puller tool which has worked OK in the past. Recently tried to remove some Shimano Claris cranks with an octalink bottom bracket. The cheap tool did not hold when pulling the cranks and ended up slipping out and taking most of the crank threads with it. There were a few threads left so I ordered the Park Tool. Despite the damage to the crank this tool was still able to get enough grip on the remaining threads and engage enough to extract the crank. Thanks Park Tool! As others have said it's not cheap, but good tools never are. It's good value if you need something you can keep using for a long time. The design of the interchangeable end caps has advantages and disadvantages, as others have said when the tool is new they can be difficult to change over but I feel this will improve over time as the tool gets some wear. It does mean that both ends are always attached to the tool which means you are not left searching for the other cap when you need it.

Well made. Works well.
It worked first time. I watched an instructional video first, but really, it was a breeze. Highly recommended.

Slightly flawed design
Needed to replace a clicking bottom bracket (Shimano Alivio/Deore). Two "pushers" are included to remove most common square taper cranks. a surprising amount of welly is need to remove the cranks and even a 1/2" socket and 600-mm extension bar felt close to shearing before the cranks moved. A really poor design feature has the interchangeable "pushers" held in place with "O" rings. This might be fine when first fitted, but as the tool has a liberal amount of oil in the packet, the "O" ring swells and taking the items off is a struggle, but putting them back is near impossible. Park Tools need to fit a metal circlip instead of the cheapo "O" rings. They even have the cheek in the instructions to say how easy the swapping is. Other than that, a well-made essential tool.

Best in the game!
Had to replace my previous one as my friend stole it but it was over 20 years old! Best in the game! This is well worth the money! I previously had paid over £30, so it has come down in price and I had to wait over 2 weeks for it 20 years ago! Couldn't be a bicycle mechanic without it! Built to last and is the best functioning one on the market! Simple to use! Cannot fault it at all!

You need this tool. Easy to use.
Did you know that there are 2 push on adaptors fitted to this? My first attempt at using this and I found the tool just passed through the bottom bracket, thinking that's not right I discovered the other adaptor and when that was fitted this tool worked brilliantly. I did not read the instructions for this tool but it's easy to use. You will need an adjustable spanner to fit and give you better effort to remove the crank. Having used the tool successfully I thought I'd check the instructions! There's a QR code with a link to a website but it's more of a product reference than a how to use. It's saved me a lot of struggling with hammers to remove the crank from an ageing bike. I was surprised how smoothly the crank came away despite being a target for mud during its lifetime. Excellent, I nearly bought a second one (then found the unused adaptor which fits to the non working end and I'd put it there fore safe keeping!)

Don't risk cheap tools on this task
Great tool. Well made and solid. Feels like a car mechanic tool. Removed a Shimano Octalink crank that was presumably factory fitted more than 10 years ago. All I needed was an 8mm allen key for the bolt and a 250mm long shifter spanner. No extra leverage required. Worth watching some YouTube videos if you haven't pulled a crank before. Glad I spent extra and didn't risk the cheaper option.

Compact and Effective Crank Puller
This Park Tool compact crank puller is simple, sturdy, and does exactly what it’s supposed to. It’s compact enough to store in a toolbox without taking up much space, but strong enough to remove cranks from both road and mountain bikes. The threading and design work smoothly, making crank removal quick and hassle-free. It’s a must-have for anyone doing bike maintenance at home or on the go. Overall, a solid, reliable tool that every cyclist or DIY bike mechanic should have. I’d definitely recommend it.

A versatile and efficient tool
This crank puller has a universal design, making it suitable for removing square taper and splined crank arms. It features rotating tips of 11.3mm and 16.3mm, allowing it to remove splined Shimano Octalink and ISIS Drive crank arms and square-holed crank arms. This crank puller has a built-in 8mm hex, making removing crank bolts easier. This eliminates the need for additional tools, saving space and time. Including this feature is highly convenient and adds to the overall functionality of the tool. The "floating" hardened tip of the Park Tool Compact Crank Puller ensures smooth operation and a long lifespan. This is a significant advantage as it provides durability and reliability, making it a worthwhile investment. The Park Tool Compact Crank Puller is a versatile and efficient tool I highly recommend to any cyclist. Its universal design, built-in hex, and durable construction make it a must-have for anyone who frequently works on their bike.
