J.R. Liggett Bar Shampoo, Herbal Formula, 3.5 oz.

I bought this to try as I have since grown even more concious of the products that I use to avoid any that have been tested on animals. I asked lost's of questions on various shampoo soap bar pages on Amazon before I decided to try this product. My hair is ultra fine/flyaway but due to my job does get very dry because I'm outside all day. Most shampoo's have a heavy build up on my hair which often makes it look very greasy and dull straight after washing. I gave it a go and I was amazed, this truely is a brilliant product that I have just put in my order for my second batch. I used it at first and was worried by what people had said about your hair taking a week to adapt but to stick with it, so I was prepared for the worst. IT NEVER HAPPENED!!! I was over the moon as my hair took to it on the first day and I have had no residue. Now it is different when you wash compared to bottled versions full of horrible additives. We have hard water and I was amazed how well it lathered up. I just only put a small amount on my hair on the first attempt but used it as normal there after. It has a slight lavender but very pleasant scent to it and when it comes to washing out, yes my hair feels rough and coarse (you then worry will it be a tangled mess on drying) but I had nothing to worry about. I suppose shampoo's full of additives have something in them that when you wash and submerge your hair in water that it feels silky smooth and this is not the case with the shampoo bar but once dry I noticed a big difference in my hair. It was super silky, shiny and oh so very soft; it was like my hair had come alive again. I told my sister about it as she is looking for a decent shampoo for her 9mth old baby son as all baby shamppo's tend to have a lot of sls. I even gave this bar up after only a few washes for my sister to have a go on herself and the baby. Yes, I think I was deemed mad but she has now become another convert and I did have another bar for Damaged hair. The only downside for me was the waiting for it to arrive as my original order took 5 weeks. So my advice is that if you like it after a week to start your next order asap, so that one can continue when the other has finished.

Sumptuous, lathers easily, no gunky build-up anywhere; scalp and hair love this shampoo bar. Also, it does not dry the hair out - i have very fine medium lengths hair that tangles and knots easily, yet by using this bar, my hair combs out beautifully without having to tug my way through. I shall be buying this brand again!

Second time I'm using this and it's awesome. Mousses nicely in your hair and when you rinse it out it leaves you hair feeling stiff initially, but when your hair dries, it's really really soft and volumey and lovely! However, if you're buying this to be more Eco-friendly (one of my reasons, cause the packaging isn't plastic), take into account that it's being flown in from Jamaica, which is just as bad! (That's why only 4 stars not 5 - the product itself deserves full stars!) Wish I could find somewhere in the UK to buy this!

Best thing about these soaps: they do not contain nasties, and do not irritate scalp in any way. Hair feels healthy and thick, a little dry, which is fine if you have a greasy scalp/fine/limp hair because it will make your hair look thicker and fuller! The bar melts quickly on the slightest contact with water so best to keep away from shower. These soaps smell nice but smell does not last for more than a few hours. Hair does not feel sticky and the soap foams very well! I am pleasantly surprised and impressed. ;) A cosy little soap pouch is also available for travel. Highly recommended soaps.

So i've been keen on cutting costs and I had my eyes on this shampoo bar due to the claims of helping with dandruff, itchy scalp and also rinsing out clear my stats: - European thin hair but i have tons of it - generally soft healthy hair, never been dyed - itchy scalp is my main annoyance and sometimes if it gets bad enough flakes of dandruff I've used it for a week now and on the first wash it was great but by the 3rd wash the buildup was insane. So much buildup! To the point where my hair is matted, stiff and also rough to touch. My hair sure has more volume but that's because it's so rough and sticky with build up that the strands just tacks on to other strands I can't move a brush through it due to the stickiness and tackiness, it no longer dries easily, there's more breakage and frankly - it's just not good. I still have an itchy scalp so the claims to help dandruff isn't good Btw - I live in a soft water area so those with harsh water environments , don't even think about it!

Bought this to try and cut down on plastic, read all of the reviews etc and decided to go for it, bought 2 as it was more cost effective with the postage. First use was well impressed, second time the bar was stuck in the paper - should have read the advice to let it dry before putting it away, anyway now used it 4 or 5 times and it has always lathered well (still on the first bar not even a quarter used)and I think it has helped to cut down the dry skin on my head/ beard. Definitely won’t be going back to liquid shampoo, and would recommend you give it a try.

Cleans hair thoroughly, but no scent at all.

Now, I know from other reviews that it's best to have soft water and I will admit I have been finding it tough to get through the "transition" stage but I think this is to do with the hard water issue that I'm not finding success with this shampoo bar. I think it's also a different clean feeling to conventional chemical shampoos. One plus is that with one wash it instantly stopped my scalp itching (I suffer with eczema and SLS really irritates my scalp) so i do love it for that. As well as this, I wanted to find a cruelty-free product as well instead of the standard medicated shampoos that are out there.that are tested on animals. I will persevere!

I really enjoyed using this product. Very gentle on hair, no excess suds or harsh chemicals. As a solid shampoo bar product, it works great for travel.

Nach zwei bis drei Anwendungen gibt die Seife meinem Haar richtig Fülle. Lässt sich sehr gut anwenden, geht aber nicht ohne abschliessende Spülung. Das Haar lässt sich ohne sehr schlecht durchkämmen. Leider ist die Seife nicht ganz so ergiebig, wie beschrieben. Bei mir hält sie nicht länger als eine 250 ml Flasche Shampoo.
