Incredible improvment in turntable sound
This cork mat replaced the felt mat provided with my Project Debut SE3 Turntable. It is very thin, so that there is no need to adjust the arm height. It reduces static dramatically compared with the felt mat. WOW This mat makes a HUGE difference to the already good sound from this deck. I can only describe it as "more detailed" and "solid" - these are words you see in HiFi reviews and you think they are just fancy, but in fact they all came true when this mat hit the platter. I really am listening to my old records as if I had new ears. I think it is a serious upgrade to te Debut SE3 for such low cost.

When you're talking vinyl collections, £20 is a gnat's d1ck
I bought the Project Cork Turntable Mt for my Pro-ject Xperience turntable. The mat is the perfect fit for the platter and falls bout 1.5 mm shy of the edge. It looks the part, despite not being black, as per the rest of the turntable. It actually gives a welcome splash of colour to my hi-Fi.In practicality, it is far, far superior to the felt mat which came as standard with my turntable. Whereas my felt mat used to regularly lift up with the vinyl when changing records, this cork model has only done so once in about 50 spins so far. The static issues are virtually none-existent. It may be my imagination, but my records appear to even sound slightly better. As I say, this may be my imagination, but perception is truth, as they say.£20 for a cork disk is a lot of money, but I'm sure glad I spent it as £20 is a gnat's d1ck when compared to the overall cost of my prized record collection. It's good quality, approx 2mm thick and despite not showing ...
I was fed up of my Pro-Ject Debut felt mat lifting off with the records, so sooner than use double sided tape, I decided to go for it and spend some Christmas money on one of these. It's good quality, approx 2mm thick and despite not showing on any of the product photos it does indeed have a cut out section for the label. It overhangs the platter by about 7mm on mine but it isn't a problem and may even benefit the sound on the outer track. Sound wise I'm tempted to say it does sound a bit "better", but you'd be hard pressed to say for sure. So it looks smart, helps reduce static, doesn't lift off with the record and may or may not improve the sound.

Cork mat improved bass.
The first thing is I am not an obsessive audiophile. I have a decent proper hi fi with a Project turntable but the system is worth maybe £1500 in total to give you some idea. So as I say decent but not high end. I use my hifi to listen to music rather than using music to listen to my hi fi. So that rules me out of being a true audiophile I reckon. That being said I do want my system to sound as good as it can within its limitations. The turntable was supplied with a felt mat on a glass platter and I wasn’t really happy with the bass. It could sound a little “out of focus” a bit “wishy washy”. This cork mat has improved things massively. The change wasn’t subtle either, where I had to strain to hear a difference. It was quite obvious. Bass is much tighter and more controlled I would say. I have to stress this isn’t me imagining the difference. I have swapped the mats back and forth and the cork wins every time. As an aside I have also tried using a record weight but no matter how hard I try I can hear no difference with or without so I am not prone to being delusional about improvements in the sound made by tweaks.I would say try the cork as a replacement for felt if your bass seems a bit loose. The mat is also exactly the same thickness ( 1.5mm ) as the felt mat it replaced so that’s good.

Does what it should do very well.
Bought this to replace a lambswool mat to help reduce static and it does exactly that. However, as the lambswool mat was 2mm thick I had to buy two of these as they're only 1mm.

Kind of already, sticks to vinyl!
This is better than the rubber mat I had before and maybe I'm missing the point but it's not cheap and although records sound good with the mat I can't really tell how much better they are, the one thing I can say is it sticks to vinyl like glue. I'm forever trying to get split the record from the mat when I remove the album from the platter.

What A Difference..
I never thought a bit of cork could make such a difference to the sound of my turntable I have a Pro-Ject Carbon, I was playing a record before this turned up, unpacked it and installed on my turntable straight away I noticed a big difference, the sound tightened up and the whole record sounded so much better. One really good thing about this turntable mat is that there is virtually no static, anyone who has a Pro-Ject turntable will know what I mean, the felt mat that is supplied with the turntable is horrible when it comes to static it will stick to the record when you remove it from the turntable, but not with this, if you buy a turntable that has a felt mat please please do yourself a favour and purchase one of these I don't think you will regret It..

It looks well made and there are no cork bits coming off. There’s definately some bass and mid range improvement. It’s subtle but I’m sure it’s there. To balance things out a little, I turned up the treble up a touch on my record player.

Feltro Project

On va devoir tenter autre chose.
