Bronze towel hook

I am trying to understand some of the low reviews for this item and I realized that if you're just looking for stars to judge an item, you're going to be mislead. This is why I ALWAYS read as many reviews as I think is reasonable . . . why a low review for not receiving an item? A low rating because the mounting plate doesn't have a dimple? Come on. Not receiving it doesn't warrant one star for an item that should be based on it's characteristics, use and quality. My hook went up within an hour of receiving it. The only hack I used to get it in place, and it's the same hook I've used for years, is to place something between the mounting plate and hook so that it pops out beyond the hook's base, allowing the double sided tape to stick exactly where I want it to go. Yes, I add a little double sided tape on the mounting plate to make placement easier. Everything else falls into place and you get to enjoy a new hook. I wanted a hook that was a little more ornate than some of the plain tube looking or square modern looking hooks. This tied in the look I was going for. I have it next to a soaking tub which allows me to keep a towel much closer than the hooks on the back of the door 6 feet away. I can't say that it will hold your towels especially well off of one hook, but if you use both, it's not going anywhere. Bigger, bulky towels, use both sides to drape your towel. Smaller items like robes and shirts should do fine on either side, on their own.

These are good quality towel hooks and are truly antiqued bronze finish. I use 1/8 inch butterflies in the top screw hole of the mounting plate and the enclosed nylon/screw in the bottom hole. I've found over time the nylon/screw holders loosen over time, mainly because we sometimes pull the towels off the hook rather lifting the towel off. Installation is easy.

The hook is sturdy and holds towels well. However, I had to place a small piece of tissue behind the mounting bracket so that its edge was further away from the wall, allowing the screw on the towel hook to grab onto it and secure it in place.

The hooks look good and the install is easy.

The clip area inside the hook is too deep set. Once I put the bracket on the wall it couldn’t reach the clip inside the hook. I had to put a small wedge between the wall and the bracket to make the bracket stand out far enough to sit the clips inside the hook on. For as long as it took me to figure out what was wrong, fix the problem and get them up, I should have returned them!

I fought with the mounting of the hook. The stamped mounting bracket was not notched correctly,. They should have a dimple for the set screw to catch. Used a punch to increase the dimple and then it mounted easily.

Did not receive any mounting hardware.
