HERCULES MS533B Hideaway Boom Stand, Black

As a designer this is an amazing design simple faultless* robust and compact, the only thing is its weight, which for a busker could be a bit much. Having said that as a street preacher I shall be taking it everywhere as it is a brilliant piece of kit. sturdy practically designed, so simple to pack away and set up. Worth every penny. *(maybe Carbon Fibre but at what cost?)

Great quality as usual from Hercules. Everything feels solid and looks like it will last ages. It comes with a handy spring mic clip which safely accommodates both skinny wired mics and big fat radio mics. The best feature is the hideaway boom: for storage the boom is safely tucked inside making it as easy to pack as an upright, and indeed it can be used as an upright if desired while still being able to use the nice squeeze and lift height adjust. Then in boom mode, the one big easy to use screw nob on the side adjusts both reach and angle. I'm a sound engineer and love the robustness and versatility. The guys I engineer for love the stability and easy of use.

These are built to last, good to look at, and pleasing to use. (Which makes it disappointing that the supplied microphone-holding clip is clumsy, prone to break, and unsuitable for "large-bore"/wireless mics.) These stands are obviously not cheap; but, especially if you gig heavily, it's worth paying for hardware you can count on. There are other solidly built mic stands available, some from name brands, but few are as nicely designed and easy to use. (I recommend the matching Hercules microphone carrying bag too.)

Excellent stand, very strong and stable. The conversion from upright to boom stand is particularly simple and effective and the single adjustment knob for the boom angle and retraction is very effective - easy to grip and tighten. I use it with an effects box/speaker plus microphone - all accommodated without any problems at all. The materials and mechanics appear to be sufficiently heavy duty to ensure a long life, but this does mean a slightly heavier than normal piece of kit. Recommended

This is a brilliant mic stand. Especially pleased as I bought it at a discount. I own many mic stands, most of them are the usual cheaper and mid prices models. The height adjustment screw is ways annoying and is prone to causing hand injuries and the booms never hold without tightening them to the point of wrist-damage and even then they don't hold, especially not with a condenser mic attached. The Hercules is in another league. It's solidly built. It has a neat quick release mechanism for the height adjustment and the boom can hold a condenser mic at full extension without requiring wrist destruction and with no drooping. Worth every penny and some

Love everything about this stand even the quick release clip that I was unsure about but is really good. Only thing that takes a bit of getting used to is not been able to put the stand at any angel as the boom can be converted to a straight stand

These really are one of the most versatile, easy to assemble, relatively light and sturdy mic stands out there. The one handed release is very handy for live events and for quick height change from MC to performing. We able to attach a 2nd mic using the boom function which is great for kids concerts (doubling up ) or for use with concertinas or accordions bring amplified. I’ve now 1/2 dozen of these in use. No problem purchasing from Hercules again. Have their music stands & amp stands also. Always good quality

Tengo un MK6060 y antes usaba otro tripode de 20 euros y era horrible para exteriores, se tambaleaba, caia, no tenía suficiente altura... Este es económico y va perfecto y super estable en exteriores, la altura es más alta de 2m así que para grabar de pie sin que salga en escena también ideal. Lo recomiendo.

I bought this because my other booms were cheap and couldn't hold my mic up at certain angles. This one does everything I wanted without falling over. I'm mostly putting it through fairly basic use, but it works well. If you knock it while the arm is fully extended and weighed down it will fall over, but that's to be expected. In every other position I've tried it, it is stable. It's quick to adjust, has a decent range of heights, and the hideaway boom is helpful for transport. It does everything I wanted for youtube.

Can’t go wrong with Hercules brand of products. I have used numerous other mic stands and mic clips over the years and nothing compares to the Hercules brand. Sturdy, well made, and reliable especially when playing a gig.
