Osprey Balsa Wood Glider Plane Kit by Vintage Model Co Wingspan 505mm

Balsa is very thin and tends to snap easily Take great care when handling product. Insufficient details in small build book. Kit has odd bits that don’t seem to fit anywhere so be careful. Wire for tow hook was missing, use a paper clip instead! Other than that enjoy building the plane kit, just try not to rush it. Extra to my review, finally finished it. The skid details are hard and you need some imagination . Tissue needs care but it goes on okay. Now to get a fine day to test fly.

The Osprey balsa wood model glider kit is very well made. It comes in a sturdy cardboard box to prevent any damage. All the parts are laser cut and supplied on three sheets of balsa wood from which they are released by cutting through very small tabs. There is a very comprehensive and easy to follow handbook detailing what should be done next. The plan for the plane is quite clear but there are several points written on the plan which must be noted during construction but aren't mentioned in the instruction book. Some of the component parts are very small and need handling with some care but all fit together very precisely. My only criticism is that the sheet showing the location on the three balsa sheets of each of the components is very small and quite difficult to read the very small letters and numbers identifying the components.

An excellant product. I have made a few balsa planes and this one has a better assembly advice than any other. I would recommend this model.
