seems like a scam... what other 3rd party SD cards can you use on these dashcams?

The camera's firmware has a fail-safe feature that advises the customers if there is any issue with the memory card so they can take action to resolve it. I hope this makes sense.

I hope you can understand the value of the video evidence you are trying to capture in a critical event.

We recommend Rove card as a replacement or alternative and you can also get any brand memory card as long as it is class 10, U3 speed. Though we are not removing the fact that there are still genuine cards out in the market, one thing to note is that if you get another brand card, we can't say anything about its quality and how long it will last. Also, if the same issue happened again, you might have a hard time reaching out for a replacement from them. You can also try using the Amazon Basics Card.

We launched our own brand of memory cards to back our products up as we had issues with branded memory cards that don't perform as advertised, whether it is a genuine card and was labeled Class 10 U3 Speed type. This also happened to other brands of dashcams and not just with us.

Why doesn't this faster card (sandisk 256gb extreme microsdxc 190mb/s) work? why does the dashcam stop working asking for a roav sd card specifically?

We clearly mention at many places like on our Amazon listing and our website to inform our customers that we do not recommend Samsung or SanDisk memory cards anymore, as they have caused more issues with our dashcams than other brands of cards, based on our experience helping our customers troubleshoot issues over the years.

We don't have the specifics. However, our memory card will last for a reasonably foreseeable future.
Our card is a combination of both speed and endurance.

It will also vary based on the Card's frequent or frequency of use.  Hence, the memory card has a 1-Year Limited warranty.
