A triple bill of Hannibal Lecter films. 'Red Dragon' (2002) is Hannibal Lecter's (Anthony Hopkins) third film outing but is based on the first Thomas Harris novel which introduced the character. FBI agent Will Graham (Edward Norton) has retired with his family to Florida after a near-death experience when he tracked down and captured Lecter. However, when a new serial killer, 'the tooth fairy' who kills whole families, is discovered, Graham finds himself back on the force and asking for Lecter's help. But the tooth fairy has been writing to Lecter and Lecter cannot resist playing each side off each other, to such an extent that Graham's family are to be the next victims. In 'The Silence of the Lambs' (1990) FBI officer Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is investigating a bizarre and gruesome series of murders, carried out by 'Buffalo Bill'. The investigation steps up a gear when the mayor's daughter is abducted. Starling turns for help to incarcerated psychopath Lecter (Hopkins), who has a penchant for chewing people's faces off. Given special privileges in exchange for information, Lecter escapes, leaving two twisted killers on the loose. Whilst in 'Hannibal' (2001) it is ten years since the events of the previous film and FBI agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore), recently in trouble with her superiors over a bungled shoot-out, suddenly receives a letter from the escaped Hannibal. It does not reveal his whereabouts, but after many years of inactivity, it does announce his interest in returning to the public domain. Clarice has the letter analysed and begins scanning the internet, desperately searching for any clues which will help her reach him before he strikes again. Meanwhile, one of Hannibal's previous victims, the horribly disfigured multi-millionaire Mason Verger, is also on the trail of his tormentor, eager for revenge and the chance to introduce the good doctor to his herd of specially-cultivated carnivorous pigs. Review: Nice box set - Nice box set. Stick to popcorn not the liver and fava beans. If you love Hannibal the cannibal the prequel and sequel are enjoyable. Review: The nightmare comes to life - Excellent, there is not a lot more to say Anthony Hopkins is on top form only thing is that he is so good that he is probably going to be doomed as being remembered for playing this role as he has done so many other films that he has excelled also but only to be remembered for being Hannibal' the cannibal' Lecter, yes he did bring the nightmare to life and there are very few if any actors who could have played the role as good or as flawless as he did there is to my mind one who could have been second fiddle and that is Jeremy Brett who played Sherlock Holmes in the series of old ( watch the orginal series and study his manner and you might see my point ) but ofcaurse by the time of making this film I don't think he would have been able to and anyway to my mind I think you will struggle to find an actor of our age to play this role as excellently as Sir Anthony Hopkins but like I say it's such a pity as brilliant actor since Richard Burton will possibaly be remembered for just this role. F.Y.I if any of my spelling is off don't correct me as I am well aware as this is written without prior practice and without a spell checker handy.

Awesome Present and trilogy
I bought this trilogy for my Dad this Christmas as we both love the Hannibal films. I am a bit sad that it is not the whole collection as Hannibal Rising is missing, this is understandable as it is where Hannibal is younger. I have already seen that one so I am not dissaponted to much, but if you would like to know the whole story purchase that DVD as well. As you will understand Hannibal Lector more as a character. This Trilogy is one of the best trilogies out there and it is amazing to watch as a thriller and from a psychological perspective. If you love analysisng people and the world like me then this is perfect for you. Psychology and Criminal psychology play a big part to this trilogy. I recommend it as it has a great story and an amzing cast. The item was as described and the delivery was excellent. There was no damage to the package either. Buy it!

Silence of the Lambs & Hannibal both recommended
Silence of the Lambs is the best of the trilogy, by a country mile. The gothic, claustrophobic atmosphere and interaction between Lector and the FBI Agent were superb. In my opinion, Hannibal was better than Red Dragon. Hannibal is the most gruesome of the trilogy, but has the most Lector screen time. For me, Red Dragon is a watered down version of Silence of the Lambs, vastly inferior and adding nothing.

Great Value
All 3 DVDs for this price is great value. In all 3 films Anthony Hopkins is just brilliant. I mainly bought the set for Silence of the Lambs (which in my opinion is still unsurpassed in it's genre), but actually Red Dragon is also a much better film than I remember it being too - I've watched that twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.

Whether he was real or not, very intriguing to watch...
Made at a time when special effects and cgi was 1st being exploited in Hollywood, the Hannibal series relied more on old skool acting and Hitchcock like tension! No issues at all with these 3 great movies.

Hannibal Trilogy
