Blindspot: Season 1 [DVD] [2016]

This television series is a dastardly convoluted and immensely intriguing piece of entertaining hokum which begins with the discovery of a naked heavily tattooed lady inside a duffel bag in Times Square, New York oblivious of who she is or why she is there. Thus the scene is set for 23 adrenaline filled episodes, each one involving a special team of FBI agents solving a clue (or clues) provided by a tattoo (or tattoos) located on said tattooed lady, henceforth to be known as Jane Doe, although there are indications that she may have known the lead male character when she was a child. Certainly there are shades of Christopher Nolan’s superb 2000 film Memento due to the use of tattoos as a plot device, but this series is in an altogether different league with regards to the often baffling complexity of the clues and an underlying overarching plot which reeks of secrecy, paranoia, blackmail and conspiracy. If you wish to resist tumbling into madness it is not a good idea to think too deeply or too long about what you are watching and hearing and just enjoy the fast-paced roller coaster ride in front of you, full of innumerable plot twists, betrayals and revelations. However, despite the seemingly obligatory abrupt editing, rapid-fire dialogue, hand-held camera work, explosions, gun fights and hand-to-hand confrontations there are some genuinely affecting moments. I found the episode involving the shooting of university students on campus by a gunman particularly well done and disturbingly convincing. The performances are good all round, with both the lead actors (Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander) and main support being provided with credible back stories and depth, which assist in maintaining interest when the basic premise of clue solving becomes a tad repetitive. I will definitely be watching the second season.

This show is great fun. It’s entertaining, easy to watch, with plenty of action and likeable characters to keep you invested. I visit my dad a couple of nights a week and we always pick a show to watch together, I suggested this one as a friend had mentioned it, and we weren’t sure but thought we would give it a go... and we were hooked so quick that we ended up watching all of the first season within just a few evenings - my dad loved it! The cast are fab, too. Was very happy we gave this a go! Can’t wait for more!

Jaimie Alexander successfully steps away from her Marvel character Sif for a similarly badass but edgier role. It's one of those shows that takes a while to get going, but rewards the dedicated viewer with an interesting twist or two before the final episode. Yet to see Season 2, but I'm just hoping this isn't one of those series that gets cancelled prematurely and we never find out the ending. Action-packed with humour. Good stuff!

Late to the party!!!!! This is an uterly brilliant and original series! I can't wait to see the nxt episode! Just bought this & two episodes in! If you love intrigue, action & mystery?? This is for you! Jaime Alexander is brilliant, the rest of the cast also great!! Will be getting season2 Asap!!!

It’s Brilliant; well okay the retrospective gets 🥴but it’s necessary and honestly not like in Arrow which was 😡just love the whole concept of the story.

If you've seen The Blacklist series then this will feel familiar. In The Blacklist theres a list which leads to criminals or crime, in Blindspot its tattoos which lead to criminals or crime, don't get me wrong this is a good series but could of done with being bit more different.

'Blindspot - Season 1' has had quite a bit of publicity in the UK so I am really looking forward to viewing it in my own time.

I am sure the product works great but it is advertised as a digital download aswell as the blu ray movie the code for the blu rays are out of date and Amazon and warnerbros couldn’t give me a new code they did return the product
