HyperX Alloy FPS Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (US Layout), Cherry MX Red

I'm English so the fact that this only comes with a U.S layout is a shame. It doesn't stop me from changing it to UK layout in system settings though. Works a treat. I'm an old-time BZFlag player, for those who don't know it's an old advanced tank FPS game from the 90s. I need everything to fit under my fingers perfectly with an extremely high demand for the fastest response time available allowing me to dodge and kill my enemies at ease. These red switches help especially when the bullet velocity and super flag weapons have been set blindingly quick, I can move in a blink of an eye with this keyboard and it's not just the red switches. Not too much bling, good lighting that doesn't dazzle you, good quality keycaps, I have seen better, but these basically fit the rest of the keyboard's build quality. Not the best, but definitely not the worst and will last nearly as long as you want them to. This keyboard has never let me down and never distracted me once. In regards to the people saying the backplate is flimsy, they're wrong. I gently smashed it over my knee and it didn't flex. Also, anything thicker than what it has would be a little weird. The join between the plate and the plastic bottom shell makes a smooth transition and you wouldn't notice that the rest is plastic until you tap on it. Accustics are nice too. If you're the person that wants the keycaps to feel like the steering wheel of a Bently then don't bother. If you're looking for a sturdy keyboard that will last and has easily replaceable keycaps and possibly something that's portable, you might like this. If you're looking for a cheap tenkeyless keyboard and are eying this one but it's a little out of your price range then save the extra twenty pounds. Especially if you aren't picky. If you're like me, looking for something that literally does what it says on the tin, practical, and does what it says to more than what I initially expected from it, it's a great keyboard. Glad I didn't buy the Bloody I was going to. Makes a nice change from Corsair keyboards. Not that I have an issue with them since I've only owned a K30. The worst piece of plastic I ever set eyes on after less than a year's use. This though.. I've had it coming to three times longer now and it's still good as new.

Brought this keyboard into a Mac room with other Mac membrane keyboards and it was noticeably louder in comparison. The quality is perfect, no damage on arrival. Controls are straight forward and works immediately on plugging in. Multiple lightning settings. Only available in US layout so don't forget to change your keyboard settings to US. This is an incredible experience for gaming. Feels satisfying to play rhythm games and any others due to the fast response times, non-tactile feel and high sensitivity. For typing, the most common complaint is the high sensitivity as slight touches can register a key press accidentally. I have had this experience in the beginning and had a higher rate of typos but after adjusting on this keyboard, it can be a joy to type. There's no trouble in pressing backspace and there really isn't any reason to leave your fingers on the keyboard unless you are pressing something. For slower or less experienced and picky typists that cannot find the backspace immediately, don't buy this.

So this is the first review I've ever done on Amazon as I really felt that this product warranted it. By far it's the best keyboard I have ever purchased. In the past I've always used membrane keyboards, but more recently I wanted to try out a mechanical one as I'd heard good things about them. I know this is incredibly geeky, but I also love the sound mechanical keyboards make when you're typing. This thing feels and sounds beautiful. It's lovely to type and game with. The light features are also a nice touch. Although I don't think I'll be changing from the standard back-lit keys, it's still nice to show other people what it can do. I also really like the fact that there's no driver download/install required, it's quite literally plug in and play. I only have a few gripes with this, as you can see though this hasn't changed my 5 star score. The first is the fact that this product didn't offer a UK layout version, I found myself struggling to find a few keys where I'd normally expect to find them. It wasn't enough to put me off buying the product though. The only other gripe I have is that I'm really struggling with the enter key, it's much smaller and is slightly differently placed than my previous keyboard, so that's going to take some getting used to as well. Obviously they couldn't have avoided this as the keyboard is just the right size in my opinion.

I love this keyboard, it’s the main reason I decided to go full hyperx for peripherals! Great company and products. However I feel somewhat that the keys on this keyboard are really weak, I’ve used this keyboard for roughly a year and a half (had a 6 months break with no use though in this time) I’ve alreay had a few replacement keys from hyperx, but there’s so many keys that the actual catches have snapped and the keys just fall off now, I’m not sure whether I can get a full set of replacement key caps or something as I’d rather not buy another keyboard..

I've had this for years now and still use it. This has been superseeded by the new origins version. But if you want something cheaper it is great for the price. Over time the keycaps faded but happens with ABS. Great fast response. Just limited RGB and strobing effects if that matters to you. Also at the time of purchase it was ANSI key format, I prefer it over ISO as I don't like the big enter key. Until it breaks I won't upgrade.

Well well well. What to say about this one. I’ve had many quality keyboards, this is by far the best. These keys are said to be for gaming ideally but I love them for both gaming and typing. It looks extremely classy, and the lights setting allows you to turn off the glowing keys if you so please (google it, it’s a simple key combo). Additionally, the way the keyboard is built it very easy to maintain and won’t get bits stuck in the keys. The cable it comes with is of excellent quality, I doubt it will ever break. I know where my loyalties lie when it comes to keyboards from now on.

Love this keyboard. Great build quality and small which is great for a busy desk. Really good for gaming and nice red lit l.e.d's with numerous display options one of which I recorded for you. No complaints at all from me. US layout so if you are in the uk youll need to add the US layout via settings/time and language/region and language then click your language then options then add keyboard and select the layout you need. To switch on the fly hold window key and tab space.

The lighting effects are awesome but it is only red, which is fine for me with a red and black theme. Switches feel great but make sure you have strong fingers, little to no key wobble. build quality is superb to its alloy frame, over 1 kg in weight. overall this a great keyboard highly recommend, worth the price.

Primero que nada quiero decirles que este texto claramente esta redactado con este teclado en cuestión. Se trata de un teclado ecomo bien dice no cuenta con el teclado numérico y con el layout en inglés (pero por si tienen la preocupación de que no pueda contener la tecla Ñ déjenme decirles que si ustedes tienen configurado su Windows con el layout del teclado en Español ésta tecla igual va aparecer donde corresponde como si fuera layout Español) Y empecemos con sus especificaciones y aspecto. Se trata de un teclado color negro con una retroiluminación de teclas en Rojo, tiene distintos patrones de luz, así como también poder ajustar el nivel de brillo de la iluminación, también incluye una función en la tecla F12 de "Gaming", activando este la tecla Windows quedará deshabilitada. Cada tecla incluye los famosos Switches Cherry MX Red, que por si no tienen mucha idea, se tratan de los switches mas orientados al mundo del Gaming, puesto que su sensación y respuesta de tecleo es rápida y precisa. Ahora un poco de mi experiencia y opinión personal, vamos no podría estar más cómodo y tranquilo al realizar algún trabajo que conlleve mucho texto puesto que gracias a la perfecta respuesta, comodidad y facilidad que tiene este teclado, teclear y escribir con el resulta ser una actividad super gratificante y satisfactoria. Llevo ya un par de días con el y déjame decirte a ti como comprador que es una perfecta inversión tanto si ya te encuentras dentro de este mundo de los teclados mecánicos como si no lo estás, puesto que este teclado sin duda alguna es una opción más que perfecta para entrar a este mundillo más que nada por la relación calidad-precio que uno bien valora y se piensa mucho cuando no esta dentro o acostumbrado a unos precios así en un teclado. Por ultimo y para concluir una maravillosa ventaja es su hermoso sonido al teclear como ya es bien conocido en los teclados mecánicos, pero la buena noticia es que realmente no es un ruido tan fuerte como lo sería con los switches Cherry MX Blue. Sin más que agregar te deseo suerte y disfrutes el teclado si te decides a comprarlo.

Comfortable to use for gaming.

First I have to say, this keyboard is GREAT! It arrived way sooner than it was supposed to have arrived and is perfect in every way. [Note: This is my first mechanical keyboard] First impressions: The keyboard has a nice weight to it, not too heavy but not too light that you can easily push it around on accident. The rubber pads under the keyboard were nice, good quality and the keyboard does not move when gaming unless you forcefully try to move it. The switches are great! Nice and light, doesn't take much to acuate them, and are perfect for gaming. The lighting modes are awesome and add a nice flair to the keyboard. Overall a very good buy!

Kingston's HyperX Alloy FPS Pro is by far the best keyboard I've ever used to date, and I'll tell you why, first going by quality, performance, and then value. Material quality: For it's price tag, the material quality is exceptional, surpassing that of Corsair's best keyboards which are at least 200$ CAD. The base of the keyboard is very compact and sturdy due to the frame being made of steel rather than just plastics, so it has both quite a bit of weight and great durability. The connection cable is also 100% detachable, so if the cable breaks, there is no reason to replace the entire keyboard, just the cable. Visually, the keyboard features a quite simple yet impressive design with sharp edges, black painted switch bases, and perfectly placed bright red LEDs which provide a glow underneath the keys and around the base of the keyboard. Gaming performance: This model specifically uses the Cherry MX Red switch, a standard mechanical switch for gaming that many of us prefer for the low actuation force, linear press, and subtle clack sound. The feet that prop up the keyboard are rubberized so that the keyboard will not slide very easily when in use, limiting any potential accidents relating to bumping your desk or keyboard while playing. It provides many basic features that almost all mechanical keyboards have, such as N-key rollover, Anti-ghosting, and Game Mode (disables Windows key when active), which is nothing to brag about, but still good to have when paying around 100$. It's compact tenkeyless design may turn off some, but for those who want more desk space for their mouse and other peripherals or hardware may want a smaller keyboard, and this is one of the best ones I've used in the TKL format. Value: For it's MSRP of 100$ CAD, it may be quite barebones in what it offers compared to other mechanical keyboards, but the overall quality, its design, and essential features make it a more cost-efficient choice over many higher priced keyboards from brands like Corsair and Logitech. Specifically, I used to use Corsair's STRAFE RGB with MX Silent switches which only has a few more features which aren't worth an additional 120$ CAD, something which I admit was a huge mistake. Overall, if you've thought about purchasing one of these, I would highly recommend you do so because I promise that you won't be disappointed. It's almost perfect for it's relatively mid-range price range in the mechanical keyboards market.
