So it crimps 10P, why doesn't it break the plastic of 8P connectors if they are crimped in the same location?

On my RJ45 connectors it does indent the plastic where the additional 2 teeth are, but it did not break the plastic and the connectors work well. There does seem to be a bit of deformed plastic into the 1st and 8th contact spaces, but not enough to cause a problem...

Does the part for rj50 have 10 teeth or just 8 as for regular rj45?

It has 10 teeth. If you’re gonna use regular RJ45 with 8 teeth as well, this tool won’t do it.

How does this adjust between crimping 10 and 8 contacts? Some people seem to think it does one or the other. Is there an adjustment???

It’s not possible. You have to buy plugs that has 10 pins. If buying plugs with 8 pins it has to have a cutout for the remaining 2. If it doesn’t it won’t crimp 8 pins plug correctly.
