Third Time Charmer and IT's Fantastic
Installing a brand new Router is no big thing. If I can do it, anyone can. I did and it works perfectly. Throughout the entire house from front to back and side to side. Compared to the two routers I previously had, this one is far superior just from the standpoint that I do not have to do anything. It just sits there and flashes its blue light and lets me know "I'm here for you."When I take my Fire HDX into the den on the other side of the home, I get all the signals I need or want. The same is true with the Note II and the other wireless devices that are going full speed. Even the printer works well. While this is fine for us, I cannot understand how an other similar device just stops working when there are no moving parts or high heat. That's just my curiosity and it is of little relevance when I can 'consume' about 2 or 3 years of a router's working properly and then just die and replace it with an even better one for just a few dollars more.Based on my relatively short usage, I highly recommend this router and, for me, I see no reason to spend significantly more. Butr then I am a cheapo.

Very Functional
The 4 star rating refers to the functional operation of this devise. Once it is set up it preforms very well and I needed that because I have used other brands that were not very functional or reliable. The problem with this wireless router is it is very difficult to set up in the first place. The disk that is supposed to set it up for you did not even come close. Also for some unknown reason after the initial setup it stopped working and had to be setup again. Had it not still been under warranty I'm not sure how I would have gotten it setup again. Reading the limited material that comes with it doesn't help me at all and there seemed to be a few necessary steps that were not described. I hope I took meticulous notes in case it ever happens again because it is now out of warranty and should it ever require setup again I'm hoping those notes suffice. One other thing that would have been nice to have in this device's firmware is the ability to limit access to its setup software to a wired computer so that wireless computers could not access it and make unauthorized changes. Of course you can and should add password protection to help eliminate that problem but passwords can always be broken and I always felt more secure with another manufacturer's software that would not allow you to access its setup software unless you were on a wired computer which was on my network. After reading a few other reviews I thought I should add that I do not see this showing high speeds with my wireless products, quite the contrary at times. Also the connection between computers on my network seems sluggish at times. Another thing is that I do not see an improvement with overall coverage in my home but the coverage it gives is more reliable when using my wireless computer. If you can live with the difficulty of setup and the other occurrences I mentioned I still stand by the title stating it is functional.

Useless for Macs
I've been using a Belkin wireless router for my Mac-based home and small business for several years. It's getting a bit old and occasionally drops the signal, so I decided to buy a new router, and chose the Belkin N900. The installation process is unsatisfying: you run an installer program, reboot, and then you're on your own. I suppose they're hoping it would just work, but my router refused to connect to my cable modem. I'm a technical guy, so I dug into the user's manual and the router's settings, but I couldn't get it to connect (I know the rest of my system was good because my older router was happily doing its thing until I disconnected it only moments earlier).I called Belkin and received horrible customer service. The person on the other end was excruciatingly slow (literally, a 1-2 minute quiet delay between every step) and clueless. He refused to escalate the case, and aside from one configuration setting, his only suggestion was to reboot my cable modem and my router, over and over again. I hung up and called again, and the next person listened to what happened, had me look at the settings, and declared the hardware to be broken. I returned it to Amazon, and just got my new router. I plugged it in following Belkin's procedure, and it behaved in exactly the same way: it refused to connect to the cable modem. There are supposed to be help systems installed, but they're exclusively for Windows. The bottom line, for me, is that this is a Windows product. It might even be a fine one. It appears that Belkin made some half-hearted effort to make the unit compatible with a Mac, but if it doesn't happen to work perfectly in every way right out of the box, you're out of luck. Wrestling with this unit, and Belkin's abysmal customer service, has been a frustrating waste of time and effort, amplified by the substantial cost of this premium product. If your network is made up of Macs, I suggest you find a different router.

Belkin N900
I bought this item because i play alot of xbox live (call of duty) and my wife is always using her laptop which slows my online gaming down. I read what this product does and figured it would be perfect for me. Once i installed and set up the belkin we gave it a try but my internet connection and online gaming did not get any faster/better, matter of fact its kind of slower. Perhaps i set it up wrong, which i doubt it, but it did nothing for me.

Worthwhile upgrade
Upgraded from 4-5 year old wireless router. Setup was long winded but not difficult. I was very impressed with all the settings available. Only grippe is I have a printer and external drive that I wanted connected to this and for whatever reason (admittedly could be user error) I was not able to do so yet. Will continue to try. Still good router and great price.
