Very nice but these are a bit smaller than expected.

I bought these specifically for cold weather entertaining ie: coffee with varied amount of yummy alcohol and a noun of whipped cream. Well I have to tell you that it happens even when we are not entertaining. I truly love these mugs. They are beautiful and heavy duty. Instructions say to hand wash but I’m lazy and they do great in the dishwasher. These would be a perfect wedding gift or birthday or retirement gift.

We are hoping to use the mugs for Irish Coffee on St. Patrick's Day.

I bought the book from the perspective of someone not currently practicing in a closely-related field but wanting to benefit from the potential of information design. I was hoping to garner some insight as to how to assimilate these techniques into my day-to-day work (consulting in industrial hygiene / worker exposure). Unfortunately I felt like some of the language was a bit verbose just for the sake of sounding sophisticated, without adding value to the intent of the discussion. Examples from previous centuries are also a 'nice to have' included in the book, but don't provide much practical benefit on a go-forward basis. I think the book is best suited for someone specializing in the area, who may have access to more sophisticated software, a greater budget of time and resources to devote to the design outcome etc. For someone looking to integrate information design into an unrelated field (that still encompasses information, and providing information / data to stakeholders), I think this book missed the mark a bit for me.

Livro que surpreende pela quantidade de estudo de casos, de detalhes seja de design da informação seja de visualização em si. Muito completo, com vários relatos interessantes. Não sei como comecei a trabalhar e estudar visualização de dados sem ter lido ainda esse livro. Super recomendo! Além da Isabel ser uma grande profissional e ter muita experiência internacional. Orgulho danado!

Meirelles covers foundations of Information Design beautifully. The examples are all engaging and not just attractive for the sake of it.
