Simply the best .........
This is a simply brilliant product, the high sides make a hellova lotta difference. I'd be happy to recommend it to anyone. We have to check it still here after our dog trainer leaves - she WANTS one!!!I found it after a lot of desperation and spending an awful lot of money on other products - if I'd have found it first I'd have saved a lot of money. We always "grass train" our dogs, so the fake grass in this works wonders. In the past newspaper training has failed, the pups liked to tear that up and then there was the memorable day when hubby put his newspaper crossword on the floor and the dog peed on that! Need I say more. Our last dog was pad trained and it took us a year to get her to be grass trained outside even with folding etc!The desperation came from the fact the Jessie was poo trained on concrete before we had her but she got Guardia which meant even with vets treatment she had diarrhoea for a month and by then she'd forgotten her original training. She was very poorly but kept herself well hydrated which saved her life but what goes in has to come out!!! Also she's a collie X and well, life is toooo interesting to stop for food let alone a pee or a poo. She doesn't sniff round before a pee, it was just CROUCH wherever she was whatever she was doing!!! (NB the trainer comes out cos Jessie was in quarantine, as her first vaccination didn't take and we had to start all over again once she was well enough).Jessie took to this straight away and with treats, loadsa praise she is now houseclean in just 4 weeks!!!! She also has the female collie stress incontinence issue- if excited she'll "leak" when people come still!! We can send her to her box before they come and that stops that one. She pees to order on it!!! The high sides etc give her a much better sense of toileting in a specific area. Its going to be moved nearer the back door now and eventually outside. Then the frame and the grass will go down till she gets the idea of grass training.I bought it for house training. Jess has me here most of the time BUT we do self catering holidays or small hotel holidays in Europe and now the rules are relaxed we want to take her with us and I can see this being of real use to her in strange places. It will be familiar to her. Also our last dog who we lost at 7 years of age had kidney failure and this would have saved her a lot of stress even if she had been left for a little while, I always knew if she'd had an accident when I came back in from shopping - I wish we'd have had one for her!!!Points to note -1. the grass does shed when you wash it so the laundry bag is a great idea - best powder to use is one that works at 30 degrees.2. wish I'd bought the one that had two sets of grass3. have an autistic son with very developed sense of smell so we use pads rather than letting urine go into bottom but Dettox floor wipes keep the outside and inside of the box fresh and clean4. when the pad is sodden Jess won't use it but will pee next to it - I just have to check the pads5. when pooing the high sides keep her in place!I'm going to buy another one to put away for the future this time with two sets of grass as I'm that pleased with it!!!

Serves its purpose but reeks of urine
My dog was immediately attracted to it and has used it mostly for peeing. She sometimes wants to play with the grass, and although we were advised to use cable ties to tie it to the grate it would not serve its purpose as it needs a thorough wash at least once a week.I thought this is a great idea but the grass comes basically saturated with fox pee, good luck getting rid of that smell! The whole room where you put it smells just terrible which would be fine if you have it in a garage but not inside an apartment. I understand that it needs to smell like pee to attract the dog, but dogs are supposed to have a keen sense of smell, right? I would have imagined that only a little bit of spray was needed. I have washed it five times with different products, even put the enzyme cleaner to work, to no avail. It still smells very strongly of urine. Besides, the grass is coming apart after five washes. I am surprised no one else has complained about this issue. In addition, the sides are attached with pegs which are very flimsy. If you accidentally trip over it, they come out. I would suggest it came without any odor and leave the amount of spray put in to the owner's judgement. All in all, it's better than the puppy pads or puddles on the floor, but leaves a very strong smell in your house.

Puppy Pads are Way More Convenient
I bought this thinking I could stop buying puppy pads, but actually you have to keep using them inside the tray to avoid puddle build up. I think on the website it says you can tip the tray out into the loo but it's way too big to do that. The grass is ok for soaking up wee, but you still only get a big piece of soggy astroturf to have to deal with, and as you have to put it in the washing machine each time, it gets a bit silly. Plus a squidgy poo means yet another go in the washing machine, and it obviously has to go into the machine on it's own, so I'm finding I'm just doing an extra daily load on top of using as many puppy pads as I used to. For me, there's zero advantage over puppy pads and I found the frequent use of the washing machine a distinct disadvantage. I decided today that I'd just go back to pads, so it's been an expensive failure. The dogs (two miniature dachshunds) are quite happy to use it, so not a problem from that point of view. Just proved very inconvenient with no clear advantage.

Absolute waste of money!!!!!
I initially bought this on reading reviews but my 9 week Rottweiler puppy that weighs much less than 18 kg at the time, refuses to use this as a litter tray (he sits on the grass and lounges around), the spray didn't encourage him to go toilet on it and he'd rather chew and play with the box instead.I just perservered with house breaking using puppy pads and taking him out to the garden every hour and just after naps, play time and feeding time. Also, the accompanying DVD is very amateur to say the least!! Expensive mistake, don't waste your money!!A further update to this review: I was contacted by the supplier by email and by text message asking me to take this review off because the product wasn't intending for large dogs and that I didn't contact their customer services to help resolve issues with my puppy not using the litter tray. They offered a refund for the product (after 3 months buying the product) but I explained by email that my puppy has since bashed the tray up and it lies redundant in my back yard and I will not be seeking a refund. She then decides to send me a text message and calls me a disgruntled person who cannot be reasoned with........ great way to treat your customers!!!!Needless to say I wholly regret ever purchasing this overpriced piece of trash and then get slagged off for having an opinion.
