DS-620

I love this portable scanner - it's so easy to put in the enclosed carry bag and pop it in the laptop bag. It uses a micro USB that draws the power from your computer so no messing about with SD cards and Wifi networks. Easy install of driver software which allows you to choose file type (including multi page PDF), paper size and resolution. I've been using it for digitising old photos and office paperwork for decluttering. It's fast and is whizzing through piles of paper. Highly recommended compared to more expensive products.

As small, USB powered and portable scanners go, they'e all much of a muchness. I chose this one because I have used Brother kit for a few years now and always found it to be reliable (they're not the quickest at releasing driver updates for new OS's though), and affordable kit. The supplied CD didn't include the Windows 10 drivers, though having bought it a few months ago this may have changed with more recent batches, and they instead had to be downloaded from the Brother website. The software is rather basic, but more than adequate for scanning documents - if you're wanting to digitize your photo collection this isn't the scanner for you. It's fairly quiet, and although it feels a little slow at scanning, it is worth remembering that it is only USB powered and a very small device. All in all, for document scanning, occasional use, or adding to portable kit for working on the road, and considering the price, I don't think you'll go far wrong with this scanner.

Brilliant bit of kit. I bought this so that I could scan letters etc and keep a copy on my PC. Does the job well with some decent software supplied. Scans quickly and allows you to scan several docs one after the other without having to use the mouse. Only reservation is that, if you want to scan photos, the result is less than perfect. Other than that, a good purchase.

What's not to love? The fact that 1 in 3 pages results in the paper getting scrunched up (see video) due to the fact you cannot align the paper at exactly 90 degrees to teh scanner, the resulting dark grey image of a white sheet of paper (see image) or the hopeless software which doesn't allow you to combine multiple pages. The only saving grace is that if you open powerpoint then scan, the image goes straight into powerpoint. No mention of this in the user guide. Avoid this product at all costs and either go for a flat bed scanner, or one with a proper document feeder.

Although it can be a little fiddly to use initally, I have tested this for the purpose for which it was bought and found that once I got to grips wth the process it is actually a brilliant piece of kit. Of course I ignored the user guide and just set the output to pdf and off I went, but it really is very handy, almost silent in operation and fast! Excellent bit of kit!

Arrived as scheduled and is a very portable and sleek looking scanner. I use a MAC, and I don't have a disk drive but I was able to download the Driver from the Brother website. I'm running 10.13 on my Mac and I couldn't initially open the DMG file (a known Apple issue), but I restarted my laptop and it opened without an issue and I've started scanning documents and it's really easy to use. So if you're running a Mac it works but it wasn't as straightforward as I'd hoped. But happy that I've bought this scanner, and love that it comes with it's own bag for protecting it while I travel.

Excellent for scanning black & white A4 documents and receipts etc. I bought it initially for scanning loads of photos as an easy portable solution. However, the scanned photos are rubbish, very unimpressed with quality. A bit of a shame.

Reliable for the odd document, quality is just fine don't expect miracles however. Not great for id cards etc. they can be done but it needs help not to get jammed.

Utilisation dans un cadre professionnel d'infirmière libérale : Répondant à un besoin de portabilité et d'efficacité pour la numérisation d'ordonnances chez mes patients, j'ai fait l'acquisition de ce petit bijou nommé "Brother DS620" ! Je l'utilise directement sur une tablette PC "ASUS T100 Transformer", un autre petit bijou de technologie, et le logiciel gratuit Vital'In qui est un agenda infirmier nouvelle génération spécialement optimisé pour l'écran tactile du T100 et ce type de scanner. Résultat : je gagne une heure par jour avec ce "trio portatif", alors qu'auparavant j'utilisais un autre scanner portable qu'il fallait faire défiler manuellement sur les ordonnances, avec un résultat médiocre (ne tirait pas droit / vagues, souvent obligée de m'y reprendre à deux fois) et des manipulations chronophages... déchargement de la mémoire du scanner le soir sur mon PC par câble USB, retouches d'images, transfert des fichiers sur les fiches patients de mon ancien logiciel de télétransmission par une multitude de clics... Les avantages de ce Brother DS620 : - très bon rapport entre résolution / poids du scan et la grande rapidité de numérisation - respire la qualité de fabrication / finition - agréable à l'utilisation avec le pincement automatique de la feuille insérée - peu encombrant, léger et esthétique - pas de chargeur nécessaire ni de piles à changer toutes les x semaines grrr... - scanne droit ! (pas de vagues comme les scanners à déplacer manuellement sur la feuille) - pilotes TWAIN et WIA pour une numérisation directe dans un logiciel tiers - Avec l'IRIS Can Express (qui est un autre choix possible), c'est le moins cher des scanners portatifs à défilement automatique et pilotes TWAIN-WIA. Les inconvénients : - Pas de mode autonome sans PC : donc pour une utilisation nomade, il faut faire suivre une tablette PC par exemple, et le câble micro USB de liaison. - Plus cher que les scanners portatifs à déplacement manuel (comme le Vanstore Skypix que j'ai mis à la poubelle), mais praticité et résultat de numérisation sans commune mesure... - Si j'en trouve d'autre (fiabilité sur le long terme que je ne connais pas encore par exemple), je viendrai compléter ce commentaire !

Cercavo uno scanner che non fosse solo compatto, ma realmente affidabile per un uso professionale itinerante. Dopo diverse settimane di utilizzo intenso tra treni e uffici, ecco perché questo modello è diventato indispensabile nel mio zaino. PORTABILITÀ E DESIGN: Ingombro minimo: Si infila nella borsa del PC senza creare spessori fastidiosi. È così leggero che "non si sente", ma al tatto trasmette una buona sensatezza costruttiva. Pronto all'uso: Il sacchettino per il trasporto incluso è un tocco di classe che protegge la scocca dai graffi causati dagli altri accessori nello zaino. PRESTAZIONI E SOFTWARE (Il vero punto di forza): Gestione Documentale: Il software proprietario è intuitivo e completo. Permette di gestire con un click scansioni singole o multipagina, trasformandole immediatamente in PDF o immagini. Qualità e Risoluzione: La nitidezza dei testi è sorprendente per uno strumento così piccolo. Si può regolare la qualità della scansione in base alle esigenze (ottimo per risparmiare spazio se si devono inviare molti documenti via mail). Velocità: Sorprende per la rapidità di trascinamento e per la stabilità del collegamento USB. DOTAZIONE NELLA CONFEZIONE: Molto completa, cosa rara di questi tempi: Scanner portatile. Cavo USB di collegamento. CD di installazione (anche se i driver si trovano facilmente online). Kit per la manutenzione e calibrazione. Custodia morbida da viaggio. VERDETTO: Lo consiglio caldamente ai professionisti che viaggiano spesso e hanno bisogno di digitalizzare documenti, contratti o ricevute in tempo reale senza rinunciare alla qualità di uno scanner piano da ufficio.

Lässt sich sehr einfach installieren und arbeitet sofort. Besonders überzeugend ist die Schnelligkeit des Scanners im Vergleich zu Flachbrettscannern. Er zieht das Blatt sofort ein, scant und das Dokument ist fertig. Ein Blatt braucht so maximal eine Minute. Die Scanqualität ist etwas schlechter als bei Flachbrettscannern, da manchmal schwarze Ränder zu sehen sind. Nach dem Gebrauch ausstecken und bei Bedarf wieder anschließen. Das Gerät ist sofort betriebsbereit und es nimmt keinen Platz auf dem Schreibtisch in Anspruch, was der Hauptgrund für die Anschaffung war. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen.

Se adapta perfectamente a lo ofertado y a mis necesidades. Perfecto para una pequeña oficina( mi caso) o domicilio. Rápido, facil de usar, compacto, intuitivo. Con varios formatos para guardar documento en pdf,jpg...etc. Es exactamente lo que buscaba y por un excelente precio. Por eso le doy 5 estrellas. 100% recomendable.
