Large 893 Litres

We have four of these Lacewing compost bins - two medium size in the garden part of our property - and two large in the working part. I have reviewed the smaller ones separately and I am trying not to repeat myself. The bins are easy to erect and no tools are needed. My husband is in his late 80s and had no problems at all with assembling them. All the bins are of sturdy construction and are replacements for others of the same kind that we have had for many years - in the knowledge that they work - I was very happy to buy the same again. I am a wildlife enthusiast - the garden - veg. area and field are all managed with wildlife in mind and these wooden bins fit in well visually and practically with that ethos.

Couldn't give 5 stars as time will be needed to prove the product. No "build instructions" were provided (or needed.?). Packaging was scant, 20Kg packages are not handled carefully by couriers. 5 pieces of wood had bits knocked off the ends, albeit this was recoverable. All joints fitted well, build was pretty quick, need a hammer and a wooden pad/block to set joints, looks "the part". Apart from the scant nature of the packaging very pleased with the product, at the price it's not worth making one.

This was bought to add to another one we bought 20 years ago. The design is simple but it works. Easy to put together and a good size. Special mention must be made of DTX Freight who managed to negotiate the narrow roads of our village to deliver it. Well done.

Really happy with it. Looks great and is perfect for a big garden. I needed to glue some broken pieces but only because i wanted it to be perfect.i have patience though and im glad i do. Its smart xx

The wood is very flimsy and it arrived with several of the notches broken or hanging off. Serves a basic purpose but poor value for money at £65.

Doesnt look like wood is treated as some was rotten on arrival and not worth £65

I've bought this twice because it seems to be a good value for money on Amazon. Both times, however, several of the notches required for secure assembly were broken. It wasn't so many that it couldn't be assembled but this certainly reduces the sturdiness and - as it's happened on both purchases made more than a year apart - it seems to be an ongoing problem with manufacturing and quality control. I'd still recommend it but expect that there will be some broken notches.

This arrived today and I put it up in about 25 minutes once I had levelled the place where it was going. Given the price I was not expecting pristine wood, and it certainly isn't but, it's a composter, not a work of art. Some of the short bits on the edge of the slots had been knocked off before it arrived but it doesn't affect the build. The wood seems well preserved so it should last several years. The only downside of the design is that it isn't easy to get the compost out without taking it apart. Once this is full I will get another one, and let the first one rot right down, giving it a turn now and again. I also ordered the cover which is on Amazon and pops up as a recommended buy. Too much rain water going in isn't good for composting. BTW the way, those complaining the wood is wet, it hardly matters given that it's going outside.

... dass man für ein paar Bretter soviel Geld verlangen kann. Okay, steckt man sie zusammen hat man einen Komposter, aber dennoch sind es eben nur ein paar Bretter.
