K5423WHI 20A Double Pole Switch with Neon

Usual high quality associated with MK switches. Terminals are always a bit awkward to get the wires in but once located in position they are very secure.

This 20 Amp (4.8 kW) switch is designed for switching heavy loads. I have had 3 installed for over 10 years switching large sotroage heaters on and off regularly and they are as good today as the day I installed them. Just bought another one for a new heater. If anyone is wondering why the neon does not light up, see my drawing and explaination. This switch is designed for all the connections to be used and not as a light switch. Lighting switches only have one wire in and one wire out. There is no way the neon will light up when one end is not connected. If you don't know these things, then you really should call in an electrician. Don't give a product a low rating just because you dont know how to use it.

Easy to fit and came with the fittings

This item arrived on time. Its as expected from MK top quality and works very well.

Good value for a decent quality replacement water heater switch, easy to install, came with the bolts needed etc.

I bought this to replace a no name make that was fitted since we moved in that failed. This MK one fits perfectly , the screws are easy to access and it looks good and solid.

The switch looks the part but the cable connections did give me some problems The cable fixing screws are not particularly effective, particularly for the earth cable connections. It took me several attempts to obtain a secure fix for both the supply and load wires. That being said the switch does its job so I will wait a few weeks before checking that the cables remain secure.

Quick delivery and a nice switch. What more can anyone say.
