Bush Portable Cassette Player

After almost giving up finding a good little retro player I came across this and decided I would give it one more try and I'm glad I did. Whilst the volume can't match others you can buy (but come on, how many of us had ghetto blasters in the 70s, I know I didn't as my mum wouldn't let me)! The sound it produces is not that bad and the distortion is down to a minimum. Yes, you get what you pay for but I think on the whole it's worth every last penny. The only little nag I've got (which is no biggie), I couldn't fathom out how to switch from am to fm and back. I thought you had to turn the little round switch at the front when infact it's a slide switch. Forget all the other little rubbish players out there, this one's a keeper.

Worked till last week then stopped…very disappointed because it was bought for an elderly person who’s eyesight doesn’t allow her to read so it was an excellent way for her to hear books then it stopped working. A replacement would be very much appreciated.

I really love it and it worked perfectly for the first couple of months. Unfortunately now one of the heads has stopped turning so it can no longer play cassettes (this is my own fault, I am very clumsy and have dropped it a few time). Although this was fine I was disappointed by the amount of information I could find online to help solve my issue, the manual has a few basic troubleshooters but aside from that there wasn't much.

This was a used article but expected it to work properly. Radio will only work without the earphones. When playing a cassette the sound is right up to top level (as far as wheel will go) but it still isnt very loud. I suppose you get what you pay for . Very disappointed but cannot be bothered to send it back. Just cutting my losses. Wouldn't recommend.

This was bought as a gift for my elderly mother, who enjoys listening to audio books on cassette as she drifts off to sleep. She finds this easy to use with clear buttons and does not need too much pressure, which she finds difficult as she has arthritis in her hands. The sound is good and the batteries are also easy to replace. This is my second one of these. They last well and are good value for money.

The sound is terrible, sounds slow , and tone not right. I wanted to learn a new language . It is useless, I should have sent it back but couldnt be bothered.

As it was bought to be used as a player only I could permanently disable the record function by locking the button. If you want to use it as a recorder be aware that there is no means of preventing the overwriting of a pre recorded tape.

I bought this for my granny as she has lots of tapes she hasn't played for years. She loves it as it has the external speaker. Brilliant for what she wanted.
